About this mod

Tired of Harkon's downfall being a given? This mod gives your savegame a timer that you'll have to retrieve Auriel's Bow by, otherwise Harkon will use it to take over the world! Fully customizable with an MCM menu.

INTRODUCTION
This is my End Times mod retooled for the Dawnguard main quest. It will turn the search for Auriel's Bow into a proper race against time, with dire consequences for failure! The original End Times mod is not required for this one to function, although the two are fully compatible and independent of each other.

OVERVIEW
This mod adds a customizable timer to your game that counts days, and indicates when Harkon will claim Auriel's Bow for himself. If you've already begun the Dawnguard questline, the timer will activate right away. Otherwise, the timer will start upon receiving either the "Dawnguard" or "Awakening" quests. If you don't retrieve Auriel's Bow before the timer reaches 0, you'll be treated to the bloodcursed eternal night, a vicious swarm of bats, and an endless number of hungry vampires showing up to turn you into a snack, followed ultimately by your death. Then you'll have to reload an earlier save and try to do it faster or start a new game entirely.

This mod will automatically disable itself if it detects that the Dawnguard questline (up to "Touching the Sky") has been completed. For optimal performance, it is recommended to install/activate this mod right after beginning the Dawnguard/Awakening quests. Otherwise, it is recommended to open and close the MCM once you do start these quests to give the timer a kickstart (otherwise it won't start counting until after the script updates on its own again, which would take up to an hour in-game by default).

MCM SUPPORT
(SKSE+SkyUI only)
This mod includes an MCM (Mod Configuration Menu) that you can use to customize this mod's features. Here, among other things, is where you can configure  how many days you want your time limit to be set to. You can also "lock in" your time limit setting here so that you don't get tempted to move the goalpost if you get close to the expiration date.

REQUIREMENTS
Dawnguard is obviously required to use this mod. SKSE (Skyrim Script Extender) and SkyUI are strongly recommended as you won't be able to easily customize the mod without them. Also, the only way to view your countdown timer without SKSE+SkyUI is the "Sundial" Spell.

If you don't have SKSE+SkyUI and don't wish to install them you can adjust your countdown timer by opening the command console and typing set GameDaysLeftDG to X with X being the desired amount of days from the start of Dawnguard til doomsday.

COMPATIBILITY
This mod should be fully compatible and will work as expected with just about everything. The only mods that may not play nice are those that manipulate the vanilla "GameDaysPassed" GlobalVariable, but I don't really know of any that do.

This mod can also be used side-by-side with the regular version of End Times, if you want to fight off two apocalypses at once.

Special thanks to Raddlia for providing me with the savegames I used to test this mod!
