About this mod

The mod adds an option to make Tharaêl your companion after completing Dark Chambers of Our Mind (providing that you sided with him) and save him at the end of the game (in case if it was a moral dilemma for you, whether let him commit a suicide or postpone his death). It also changes the side room in the house in the Nobles Quarter.

I’m deeply convinced that this character is misunderstood by most players. In most cases, he is taken for a mere criminal whom the protagonist feels able to pass a death sentence on or grant a pardon to in order to provide him with a chance to atone for his guilt, in the latter case. But he is more than that. He commits his murders neither to achieve any gain as a usual criminal does, nor he finds any pleasure in it. Apparently, he would be an outcast no matter when and where he lived, but he personifies the idea that exists as long as the society itself and can be illustrated by such historical phenomena as berserkers, different comitatus, etc. (at least, regarding social attitudes towards them). He understands his social role clearly saying that ‘the world needs people’ like him: those who sacrifice their possibility to lead a normal life in order to eradicate evil and injustice, and as it usually happens when people try to realize their good intentions and act for the sake of justice, he breeds additional evil and kills the guilty and the innocent as well, though at the end of his quest he understands and accepts his flaws. We should also take into consideration that this character was created by Germans, in whose culture (at least archetypically, despite of all subsequent corrections and extraneous features invected by Christianity) the concept of wrath and madness (wut, to be precise) has never been associated with a sin or demerit; it is proved by the fact that they called their main god in the name of it. Personally, for me it has never been an alternative whether to kill him or try to bring him up to normal life. For this reason, I made according corrections to the original game: added the possibility to join the protagonist’s adventures (as a stage of his socialization), arranged his daily routine and provided an opportunity to save him in the end of the game (it affects some original quests, but won’t ruin the game). In addition, I refurnished the side room in the house in the Nobles Quarter, so if you’re using a mod that makes any changes in it there MAY BE PROBLEMS. Apart from this, the mod marked ‘Romance’ allows the protagonist to kiss him at the end of the game (if you don’t want him to kiss you DO NOT DOWNLOAD this version) ON CONDITION that you are not in romance with Jespar or Calia. It’s a simple kiss, as you may guess, without explanations, assessments, sharing of viewpoints, consequences, etc., and I doubt this version will be popular, but still, I’m not going to change it. Also, especially for the users who try to upload a non-SE version to Enderal SE, fail the game as a result and report it as the mod bug: I moved the non-SE version to the proper directory. And I corrected the bug that makes the First Seer attack you.
