You could add imperial, redguard, or elven legionettes with Rikke voice because after the battle of Whiterun, I've noticed that Rikke has the whole slew of generic legionairy comments done with her voice and everything. You could apply those voice file to them so you don't only have Nordic female legionaires
That is an interesting suggestion. A commander in some of them would tend to indicate that they were officers as well as enlisted. As far as the mod goes, I thought it was odd that one side had female troops and the other side didn't. This mod fixed that.
Thanks so much for this much needed mod. Works great and I never understood why Betheseda forgot to include females in the Imperial Legion after the opening scene. Endorsed!
They didn't forget. It's not just soldiers, any town under Imperial command has no female guards, while towns under Stormcloak command do, it's deliberate. One of the key things about traditional Nords (and thus Stormcloaks) is that women fight just like men do, it's a key point throughout the game (Uthgerd always trying to fight everyone, all the talk about "strong Nord women" ). The only female Imperial with any importance in the story is Legate Rikke - a proud Nord. They clearly wanted to emphasize the uniqueness of Stormcloaks having female soldiers (and Stormcloak supporting holds having female guards) so they made sure there aren't any generic female Imperial soldiers (or guards in Imperial held towns). This is just like the previous Elder Scrolls game (which took place in the Imperial province) where there are no female soldiers or city guards. If there were generic female Imperial soldiers all over the place in Skyrim there would be nothing special about the fact that Stormcloaks have female soldiers, and it wouldn't fit with the lore of past Elder Scrolls games, so they limited it to just a few instances.
(don't forget, the Imperials are based on the Romans, who welcomed all nationalities into their army, but only men, while the Nords are based on the Vikings, who are famous for being one of the only groups in history with female soldiers, called shieldmaidens)
Then why are there female voice files for the garrisons? And the soldiers?
There are two others: Captain "Off With Your Head", and one of the archers that shoot Lokir down. And there are a few ex-legionnaires too: Brina Merelis and Ghorza gro-Bagrol come to mind. Rikke mentions both her parents are legionnaires too.
It was an artistic decision on the part of the developers to cut female legionaries in the final release of the game because they wanted the Stormcloaks and the Legion to feel more different for the average player.
Nice post tho. But I'd appreciate something else to this mod. A optional file with the proper female animations for these guards. Not everybody are agree to see ladies walking like men.
I second this mod for SSE, the only reason I would ever think about choosing the stormcloaks is because they actually have some variation with female guards.
