The legendary Ashland mine - purportedly the richest mine in all of Tamriel! Can you find it and deal with all the dangers it presents?

Many years ago, intrepid Dunmer explorers set out to find a legendary gemstone and ore mine, rumoured to be enourmously rich. According to stories passed down by our elders, they really did find it.
They crafted a map, several copies of which were made, then set off to plunder its riches.
No one ever saw them again. It is said that something in the mine claims the lives of all who dare enter.
Many an adventurer has longed to discover this legendary wealth, but most cannot decipher the map.
Will you, born of Dragon Blood, finally unlock the mystery?
Clue #1: It is not within the bounds of the province of Skyrim.
(Obviously that means somewhere on Solstheim.)
Clue #2: Some maps may be held by non-living persons.
The map is old, and not well marked, perhaps intentionally.
When you find one, you can examine it in your inventory, but it appears sideways.
Just drop it on the ground, and behold its gigantic splendor.
The location must be pretty hard to find, or someone would have done so by now.
If anyone has, perhaps it was their very last act.
It is not in some extreme location, but as you might expect, it is just not readily visible .
Check the map, decide what you think it shows, then run, jump, climb and search.
You’ll receive the customary notification when you get close enough.
If and when you find it:
This mine is seriously dark, so having torches (or finding a supply on site) will help a lot.
You can insert them from your inventory into each of the many removable torch sconces found throughout the mine.
You can, that is, if you survive!
The enemies you will face are stronger than they look. Arriving armed, armoured and prepared is advised.
Saving often is never a bad idea. As always, you can adjust the difficulty level to you liking.
If no one seems to be finding it, I’ll try to post additional help.

Unmined ore looks better with the Glowing Ore Veins mod, and you can easily recognize if it’s been mined or not.
