Hey Nico-I had another idea-keep the ones at the forge craftable with the world ones being enchanted-that makes the world ones more valuable and ppl would explore mode. What do you think? (it's ok to say no BTW-it's just a thought)
It's a good idea CD, and I used to add enchantments to weapons I made way back in the Oblivion days. However this caused an issue because people like different things. I was getting requests/complaints that they wanted a different enchantment or different strength enchantment or simply wanted to enchant them for themselves. So I decided to release everything as 'enchantable' but without any specific enchantment on it. This way no complaints and people can decide what enchantment they want on it for themselves (or no enchantment at all).
This is also why the uniques are set to base ebony damage and have recipes for upgrading (as well as crafting them). Not too weak but also not overpowered and can be improved to be powerful as someone wants (with a few potions and some enchanted items equipped they can be VERY powerful).
Options and balance. Difficult to achieve but I have left options open to let the player decide, and believe balance is also pretty good at Ebony damage. The replacers are exactly like vanilla in stats.
So maybe you like the Forsworn bow but it's too weak for you. There is the Eagle bow to be found with Ebony damage and the same look.
This has been discussed quite a bit and debated. Where they are at is where the happy medium was.
Scoped bows adds the scopes to vanilla bows from the game thereby making a new mesh then replaces the old one without the scope
So…. ‘Making it work’ with scoped bows isn’t really what you’re asking. Scoped bows isn’t just adding a scope but replacing the entire model with the vanilla one with a scope attached.
You’re asking for scopes to be added to my meshes.
Personally I don’t use a scope. I don’t even use the crosshair
Bethini, Archery Tweaks, and Archery Gameplay Overhaul all change the aim point of the game to better fit with where your actual arrow tip is. This is somewhat dependent on the length of the arrow but with IWBA And any one of those mentioned I can use the tip of my arrow to aim very accurately without a scope or crosshair much like you would aim a bow in real life.
slightly above the tip of my arrow will be my point of impact.
Seeing as these bows were made to better reflect real world designs of the era scopes just don’t make sense to me.
If you like scoped bows then by all means use that mod. It’s very well done If you would like to add scopes to my models and release an update to my mod you have my permission to do so just credit me for my original work and don’t put anything of mine on Steam.
I have no plans to add scopes since I don’t feel they are needed or fit with the lore.
You should give at least Archery tweaks a go its simple and lightweight and will make archery sooooooo much more enjoyable. Guess I’m kind of strange when I play Another of my favorite mods is Immersive HUD
just hate having HUD elements or a crosshair in my vision when I play.
kind of feel the same way about scopes on my bows. they serve a purpose but block my view. The one I will tolerate is the sneak eye unfortunately the aim point is not compensated by archery tweaks when in sneak mode. But for non sneak archery it’s the bees knees :)
I updated Nicoroshi Creations, saw your Bowgasm mod, didn't have the willpower to resist, and ooh... I gave in to temptation to possess these pearls of great price. I have all the 1H weapons nicely DSR patched, and am on a quest to retrieve all of these unique weapons in all the far corners of Skyrim where you left them. As a side note, I had to chuckle when I made some of the DSR patches. I saw where some mesh blocks were adjusted, ever so slightly, in your pursuit of perfection. Well done. My humble thanks for sharing with us what must be a passion.
Huge thanks for the AIO replacer option - I finally got a much better looking bound bow now.
It was always such a letdown that the other "realistic" bow mod (Real Bows) did not include textures (pardon me if I incorrectly used the term here) for spell-related bows. With Bowgasm, I now have my bound bow looking the way I wanted it. Thanks again for making this!
My goal was to do every bow in game. only a few slipped between the cracks but mainly because they were unique and IMHO didn’t need to be done. The black bow of fate and Auriels Bow come to mind. The bound bow is interesting as it is actually made up of a few different meshes. the bow mesh and the mesh for the effect. both are rigged and animated but use two different animations and two different bone structures. fitting the effects to my new bow shape was a challenge but doable. the other bow set up like this is the drain spell bow which I also did. Happy you like them :)
Your bows, are utterly beautiful and this is what they should have looked like as default. The default bows look about as realistic to this game as an aircraft carrier in Solitude harbour!
Fantastic work and thank you for sharing your superb skills.

Check out I want better arrows mod too.
the bows were designed to match the corresponding arrows.
