I really like the Bows appearance with these fine bended engravings and its wooden heritage.
Although, i would prefer it smaller and not so thin (bows, as long as a humans body are not my thing - i personally prefer more compact models that fit the visual impression and relation more realistic)
The handle / grip (i mean the part in the middle where the bow gets held in the hand with) looks too slippery for my taste. Some nice, soft and grippy leather for a secure and stable hold would be better than a slippery, shiny-painted one. (Matte is the new Shiny, anyway ;-) )
I am not critizizing the bow at all, i like it. Just trying to be constructive

    P.S. save Endorsement

Longer bows can really sling those arrows though. Remember the English longbow men.

I am glad you have your own opinions and personal preferences.
      everyone does.

the wonderful thing about Elderscrolls games is Bethesda Gabe is the ability to add new content as well as modify what’s already there to suit our own personal preferences.

i think it’s perfect exactly how it is so that’s the way it is in my game and how it was released.

please feel free to modify it to suit your own tastes for your own game.

Not sure if you’re still following this but I made a shortbow called Mirkwood Bow that is much more compact. It may be more to your liking.

I have never liked the look of the ugly, clunky, heavy looking and unrealisitic default Skyrim bows and had instead been using the more realistic looking Galadhrim bow byEnpremi for seven (!) years now; until this came along :)  This Rivendell bow is a beautiful design, and is now on my character's back :)

You are doing us a great service for all of we bow lovers in making truly attractive and realistic-looking replacements for the default bows. You have already given us a wide choice for many tastes as a result of your work so far, and it is much appreciated. :)

    Thank you.

      Thanks and you’re welcome.
I am one of those bow wielding players too you know.
This was something I personally wanted in my own game.
Thats the main reason I am doing it.
I share because it warms an old mans heart to see other people smile :)

As with your initial response, I saw and coveted.

I didn't have to wait through production for this beauty though. Respect to you and NickKellerArt. I have a rabbit hole to explore this morning in sifting through your entire mods for LE and NickKellerArt's history (though I cannot find that ID) as well. We are thinking about working as a modding team at this end. We are both so noob it hurts to wrap our brains around all you do to make such incredible play throughs for us.

    Thank you

I'm a bit confused by your reply so i will handle it one thing at a time.
Which initial response? I believe this is the first we have conversed.

Edit: I get it.. you wanted this bow too when you saw it :)

How did you not have to wait for this bow. No one had the files except me until I released them here?

Edit: you saw it first here so didn’t have to wait at all since it was already created.

Nick Keller drew much of the original concept art for WETA for Peter Jackson and the Hobbit and LoTR films.
      Who is we?
I see you're retired and you were a Sysadmin so have computer background.
      Both of those are good.
If you (either singular or plural depending on who 'we' is) want to be a modding team it does take time.
      LOTS of time.
Typical hours to create a mesh, rig it, UVMap it, create textures, and maps, convert to .NetImmerse format, and get it into the game is between 40-60 hours depending on how intricate it is.

I am also now retired but from a different field. I worked construction for more than 30 years and love to build things.
      Wood, metal, plastic, and pixels.
Welding, sawing, milling, and swimming in the sea of vertices is where i am at home.
      I didn't own a computer until after 2000.
but I like to learn new things and create.
An injury introduced me to Morrowind in 2004 while I was healing.
I healed but fell in love with Elderscrolls.
Got Oblivion the day it was released, and got talked into helping a friend I met on Bethesda's official site to make models for a mod idea.
I had no idea what i was doing but watched every tutorial i could find, and read a lot.
Then experimented, and most importantly never gave up.
14 years later I am still learning, and still having fun creating.
I wish you luck in your quest to be a modding team, and produce wonderful things for a truly awesome game.
And you're welcome for the toys i share.
      Glad you like them
      That makes me smile. :)

I re-rigged the bow for proper bending during draw.
    V1_1 is available now.

    Enjoy
    Nico

    For BrunoVonHagen>>>>
Tell the gripes to Nick Keller who drew the original concept art for this.
I happen to like his work exactly as it is :)

Thank you very much, Nico ;-)
I would "modifie" this beauty myself - unfortunately i dont understand how to do stuff like this.
      Nevermind

P.S. ..will try a little "Trickery" with Jaxons Positioning Tool ; might work.

I didn’t know how to do this stuff either when I started doing it.
      Dumb construction grunt here.
However there are wonderful amounts of information available to those that look, and have the desire to learn.
We only don’t know how to do something until we learn how to do it.
The only person that can get you to learn is yourself..
I wish you success in your modifications to achieve what you desire.
This bow however wasn’t my design.
So the requests for modification or input to change it to what you want falls back on you.
      Have fun modding
      Nico

Nico, i will never be a modder - i dont have the required basic-knowledge to do such "Magic"
That is why i have such Mega respect for people like you. You keep the spirit of Skyrim alive with your passionate work for the ElderScrollsUniverse.
To get the game running with all the 370 mods i have installed, is a miracle for itself - ENBoost and things like that always let my knees shake ; By Ysoldas Mammoth-Tooth, this is Magic casting at "Paradoxon-Level"! *Hahaha

Honestly, with Jaxons Positioner you can get very creative "in-game". A lot of customization is possible with this tool. (it is limited, though)
I would like to post a picture of my "Cool Babe": Kiki Moreau with your Rivendell Bow ; ..as if the bow was made for her. She is an adventurer with good senses for "Style", rather than beeing a Warrior or Berserker-Typ. Along with your Tauriel Dagger, your beautiful arrows and quivers And the Rivendell Bow - SUPERB!

      Thank´s again, Man!

Fair enough. No one can make you learn but yourself.
I do admit I can be very stubborn, and tenacious when it's something I want.
Gaining knowledge is always something I want, and learning a new skill.... Yep I want that too.
But everyone is different which is also cool.
I would love to see your Kiki sporting Some of the Nico Armory.
Screenshots are always welcome and some of you out there are far more talented than I at taking them so I like to see.
