Hey friends! See our announcement at the end of the set. We DID do something special together... Or if you can't wait...

    Spoiler:
    Show

Well, the title of this set IS: The Things We Do - Together. So now, we announce our new mod:

Voyage to the Dreamborne Isles - Navmeshed for your Special Guest

A new addon mod to the amazing Voyage to the Dreamborne Isles

Our mod obviously requires the original one, but what it does is to allow a special guest to join the Player on this amazing adventure!

See the very detailed mod page for our mod. Haha... also known as cmh's latest novel!

Those are fantastic and very lovely scenes between cmh and Alex but a lot of action too
I am glad, that you found a way to take her with you to this great adventure and that you made this great addition to this mod

Thank you, my friend! It is such a great mod, and having Alex with me made it even better! We have replayed the mod 3-4 times, to test fixes and changes before publishing the addon mod, and we had a great time each trip.

Thank you so much! I checked out your link, nice set and your Maryl and game look amazing!

I know you like followers on Fallout 4, so maybe some day you will choose a special friend and return to the Dreamborne Isles as a nice getaway from Skyrim. SE mod is in final testing, will be available soon! I hope!

great. my le mods run as se mods without a flaw. even most if not all esp seem compatible. old bc3 coded le textures are often a problem using them with se (ctd).

I wasn't aware of BC3 (DXT5) textures ever causing problems on SE, but then... I do not play on SE except to test mods. I will keep that in mind if I am ever troubleshooting on SE and have a CTD. I know that most (but not all) LE stuff will run on SE as is, but with so many self claimed "experts" out there, I always convert the plugins and meshes anyway. Just to eliminate any... confusion.

PS. It is funny, because I feel I know a lot more of how internals of Skyrim work than most people, and I certainly don't consider myself an "expert"... just an incredibly stubborn old $*%*% that beats my game into submission, time and time again!

i think it's not dxt5 but dxt3 and dxt2 what ctd's with skyrim se. it was 7 years ago i tested this and i am not perfectly sure. in the meantime as you know i favour bc7 as the superior dx11 texture dds format for sse and fo4. . good old try and error experience

DXT3 (BC2 I think) is something I never use when I do texture work, always DXT1 or DXT5 for LE. I believe I have heard of issues with DXT3 as well, but can't remember for sure. As you know, BC7 ain't gonna work on LE! But I do know why you prefer that.

I use Gimp for all my retexture work, and at least the version I have doesn't support BC7 - but again that is fine since I am on LE. BC7 might be available in Gimp if I updated it. Ha! You know me, if it is working... do not update it for no reason!

BUT for normal image viewing I use Irfanview, and was so happy when it added the ability to display BC7 textures a few years ago. Not because I need to see them, but because in Irfanview when you hit the "I" key for information, it now shows BC7 as the compression, in addtion to None, DXT1, DXT3, DXT5 - that it has always done. So  when I backport, I can quickly see what compression is used. And then I have a batch process that can convert textures from one type to another, adding or removing MipMaps as needed. It uses "texconv.exe" to do the actual conversions.

Have a great rest of the week, my friend. I am looking forward to trying out those Fallout 4 mods you recommended to me several weeks ago. I have been avoiding Nuka World for the last several weeks, and want to get back to that next week, once I get our new mod published on SE.

The very best of luck to you with this mod, old mate, I know you've put a vast amount of work into it  so that other people can take their player's companions with them into the adventure!  It's people like you (and the original author) that make...and keep...this game great!

Thanks, Les! It is a relief to have it published. I don't know about other authors, but hitting the publish button is always a strange moment for me. Did I do everything? Is everything packaged correctly, etc. And of course, will anyone even want to use it, especially on LE where activity is much lower than on SE these days. The nice thing about this one - it really was made for us, and now we are just sharing it.
