Although Red Pandas aren't the most ferocious looking creatures
I don't know anything about textures other than swapping around existing ones. I tried to "colorize" a texture once and it was such a disaster I haven't tried again. I have trouble even figuring out what DDS format to save existing ones I might be doing something with let alone actually make one or edit the colors on one.
I ended up going with the Red/Ginger Nord one by KrittaKitty and got the two different eyes worked out using the Howling werewolf. Marrok I went black and red eyes but then that fits the Dunmer.
I'm not really very technical with this kind of thing and creating new textures is out of my league but it allowed me to make simple edits to textures like colour changes. :)
Also had both LE and SE installed once and used a manager only for SE which messed with my LE loadorder too.. Guess I stay with LE, also because of the enb's and the 'color richness'. Greetings :)
I feel LE has better light/color and have had enough other people tell me the same thing that I realize now it isn't just me - that others feel the same way. Still both games can look really good if enough effort is put into them.
A good idea but the I don't like wearing something that is part of a creature as armor. The reason I made a tiefling race is because I wanted his horns and ears to be part of who he is, not some armor he puts on. So Wulver's ears and horns are not armor - they are a part of his race, attached to his head as part of him. I would want to do the same for his Werewolf form. It's a quirk of mine that I don't like wearing "armor" for "skin" purposes, even though I know how body and armor work. I simply feel weird seeing "horns" in his inventory and "wearing" them. Just bugs me :)
If it were only for doing screenshots then fine - not an issue and I have done that before with halo's, wings, and other body parts as armor for doing screen sets. But for actual game play my mind won't accept it - its weird that way.
So I make life much more difficult for myself by trying to find a way to make them part of the race, like making a new race for Wulver. My whole Tiefling Race mod was made to get around wearing horns and ears as armor :P
I will look into editing the WW mesh and CK options at some point. I have his red fur done and his eyes are next. I also use Mighty Beast so I have to edit those as well. All in all a lot of work for something fairly silly but learning is a good thing so I don't really mind, once I find the time and energy to make myself do it.
Found myself currently refitting shell texturing meshes to the femmelycana werewolf body and then trying to fit it around lupine's werewolf armor to prevent clipping a bit time consuming but worth it :D
I just finished converting over the howling mighty beasts moonlight tales patched meshes (needed those as they have the RIGHT and LEFT eye setup unlike the basic MB meshes) to work with Kritta Kitties Nord Red/Ginger textures replacer. This was so Wulver could have one blind (mystic) eye and one good one. He also has his red fur now.
I don't use Moonlight Tales so it was some extra hoops to get the meshes (as I don't know enough NIF work to convert MB plain to have two eyes and since MT patch already had it done was easier to just rename them then edit the texture paths in the NIF for the eyes to point where I wanted them).
I use GROWL and now Wulver has his correct look.
If I continue to be motivated the next two steps would be:
1 - Install unique player werewolf mod. Then take all the above work I did and move the files into the correct area for unique WW player paths. Then only Wulver is red with different eyes and the rest would be the default black.
2 - Find a way to add horns to the unique player WW set up on the head mesh.
All in all hours of work for the very occasional times I have him become a werewolf. Guess that is why modding is a hobby - it can be a real time investment but its fun when you can really customize things like this.,
I spend more time modding than my actually playign the game in recent years I will loa dit up after a few weeks of workign on mods for a new playthrough play just past the start and then go "oh no I need to go spend more time modding I need to add this *something new*"
I think my creation kit has something like 6000+ hours then there's all the time spent in gimp and nifskope among others... Skyrim gets at most a day of play. With modding there's always something new I want to do/add that will make it perfect and it just never ends heh
To think I once happily enjoyed no mods no DLCs Skyrim on xbox360 I can't even imagine it now with mods being a possibility for me
Quite a little challengeyou've set for yourself with Wulver's werewolf form. Do you consider to take his horns over, too?
The surroundings of Wulver's home aren't exactly welcoming, but the lights promise some warmth.
Love also the tranquility in main. Invites to take a rest there.
I don't know about the horns. I have already forgotten how I made my Chaos Tiefling race in the first place. I know I had to make a standalone race to be able to attach the horns, and ears, permanently to the head via the CK. In theory, then, I might be able to use the unique werewolf mod to isolate out the werewolf for the player and attach the horns that way. I don't know if one can attach things to the werewolf model in the same way one can to the PC in the CK. So would require some work. Would look cool though so maybe I will look into it.
Love them all and and the eagle nest home :))
