Another wonderful portraits post. I am always amazed how realistic your characters looks, I love their skin and the sparkle in their eyes... Untouchable work, Rick!

I'll tell you, they didn't look this realistic from the start, so it's been a long journey of different skin textures and some added sculpting. Funnily though, I don't work too long on a character preset. I basically know what I want from it as soon as I start creating a new face, so I'm msotly done in about 20-30 minutes. It helps a lot having written descriptions so I know what I'm looking for and what type of facial structure to build...and I guess, after creating more than 400 Skyrim characters, I've got some experience under my belt by now...

I'm using Bijin skin textures, UNP bodies with High Poly Heads and a variety of eye/hair/overlay mods. I seem to recall having a special mod for that sparkle in their eyes here on LE, so let me know if it's something you want me to look up!

      Thank you, my dear!

Oh, it would be very kind of you if you can find this mod for me!

I think the overlays like the ones created by Lamenthia are perfect for create more realistic characters (I just love her mod so much). Some textures, especially for females, looks plastic and "too young and pretty" for my taste, so I had a hard work searching something I trully like. Atm I am using a "Frankenstein's monster" of SG + Real Girls (from Demoniac mod), with the lips of Tempered Skins for Females + the 3d maps of Smooth Faces for Ladies and Gents, that removed the round childish cheeks of my female characters, especially the elven ladies. I did this mix in Paint.net and Photoshop and for me it is working very good.

Well, this turned out to be more of a ghost hunt than I would've expected. I'm using Vortex for Skyrim SE and everything is installed so elegantly compared to my messed up modlist in Mod Organizer which I use for Skyrim LE...

That said, the eye reflection mod should be either one of these two:

      Eye Normal Map Fix
      or
      Ilygaid Eye Improver

I seem to recall not having that much of an eye effect with my former ENB in LE though, so it might depend on what you're using. The one I use now - Caffeine ENB - is very good at sharpening details, so it might visualize this effect a lot better. Lets hope for some success at least for you, because that extra sparkle in the eyes is very appealing, especially in darker areas.

I started out using SG Female Renewal skin textures back in 2016, then switched to Demoniac, then Mature Skin and the latest in LE was Pride of Valhalla. I just recently changed to Bijin skin textures since I use it in SE and wanted as much similarity as possible between LE presets and SE presets. Lamenthia's overlay is a "must have" for me, just as Frecklemania 2, Skin Feature Overlays and the dirt textures from XCE...

Thank you so much for the links, my friend! I will test them to see, as I don't use ENB it will be a good way to know!

When I have this issue recently with my game I tried (with Saint Manu's help) to use Mod Organizer, but for some reason I didn't adapted to it so I returned for the Community version of Nexus Mod Manager, as I already know how to use it and how to organize my things.
I also use Skin Features Overlays and is a marvel, together with Lamenthia is a must have for sure!

Truly thank you, Ash! I was curious about using high poly head meshes for the original character presets and it seem it did quite a lot actually. Elves are all messed up due to my use of mods that don't really work nicely with HPH, but at least my elves look nice still in SE.

In this batch, I lean towards Amathin myself... She looks so real!

Many thanks, Ian! Quite the nostalgia seeing these old originals as they mostly look all different now in Skyrim SE...

Truly thank you and if I may, I'll stand by your side, saying "wow" myself, because this is NOT how I remember my characters looking in Skyrim LE...

Don't be too harsh on your PC! Mine is six years old by now, so I'm getting sidetracked by a lot of other screenarchers nowadays. I even play Skyrim on a ten year old rig, purely vanilla, when my kids occupy this PC! There's always a place for an old machine if it can run Skyrim...

Thank you for the very kind praise, my dear! As I've told others here already, the quality really did stun me as well. I don't remember my characters looking this realistic from when I played Skyrim LE about one year ago. But I've installed High Poly Head textures - since I use them in SE too - and it looks as if it made miracles. Some of these portraits are very lifelike, I must admit...

I will still focus on my travels with Ragna in Skyrim LE, but I will most certainly return to some of the other characters as well, especially when they look like this. Sadly my elves don't look good at all since the change, but at least they look magnificent in my Skyrim SE...

Many thanks, Michael! As I told Kozakowy, the detail quality pretty much amazed me when seeing the shots here. LE didn't look this realistic as I remember it, but I did install high poly heads for LE since my return, so maybe that ironed a few flaws out...

Salina is a rather shy thief lass with eyes that can steal anything without someone noticing it while Arrian is rather the opposite, a very confident, loud and prominent dragonslayer and a minor lord of his homeland..

Thanks a lot, K! I must say, I was quite surprised seeing this amount of details as I'm more used to it in SE and this is NOT how I remember my characters in LE. I did switch to high poly heads for LE as well, so maybe that just did the trick? In any way, it was a very heartwarming reunion with some old friends. Sadly all my elves look rubbish in LE now, but the sunny side of things are they're quite remarkable in SE...

Many thanks! Never really intended on starting re-doing all the LE characters into high poly heads, but I got smitten by it when revamping the SE characters, so here we are. Funnily though, it's more or less the same presets, yet in LE they still look much more closer to the original non-HPH presets even though I'm using the same skin textures...or maybe I don't? At least I think I do, so I should perhaps check that up before spreading misinformation...

Of course, different ENBs changes things slightly too...
