Kirsten and Rayla met Phoebe and Vita at Silverblood Inn after a mission. They were drawn by the two because they looked like short-haired "Mini-me"s of themselves. Phoebe and Vita were both very friendly girls, but Kirsten sensed a lot of repressed pain in Phoebe. When Kirsten addressed this, Phoebe hesitated and did not explain what Kirsten sensed in her. Months later of consistently hanging out with one another, Phoebe trusted the two enough to reveal that she was born into slavery and tortured for the first twelve years of her life. Kirsten could not believe that this sweet girl had a far worse childhood than herself. Her "tattoos" and bright red eyes were actually magical brands left by her cruel masters. Rayla had an idea.
Vidal taught both Kirsten and Rayla how to change their eye color. Rayla asked her father if it was possible to remove those brands on Phoebe's skin, and he said something like that was child's play for him. They asked Phoebe what color she wanted her eyes to be and Phoebe asked if she could make it the same colors as her best friend Vita. Vita styled Phoebe's hair to something different and Phoebe loved it.
Phoebe was so glad to meet other people that cared for her that were not from her father's fortress. They did not have to do the things they did for her today, but Rayla and Kirsten went out of their way to help Phoebe forget about the memories of her childhood that still stresses her to this day.
Life is worth living with friends like these...
