I understand your feeling on the civil war, I usually skip it myself. The united force against the Thalmor is why I like them. Elven domination over humans didn't work well the last time (the Ayleids) and for all its flaws, the Empire generally tried to do good. Ulfric is kind of a princess, even more so than Elisif in my opinion. I doubt I'd ever be able to take a Stormcloak through the civil war for that reason alone.
At least with this mod, you can (once you off Ulfric) join the Imperials and the Stormcloaks and take the Thalmor down. You can also play out the Thalmor victory if you want, which would be interesting to do. (It's funny that I would do Thalmor over Stormcloak
