About this image

I am going to take a break from EoS. I am asking you to  tell me if you want EoS to continue. I do not want a PM or a comment (although that would be nice). The way you are going to tell me to continue is by continuing. I ask you to continue to produce EoS contributions without me making a compilation. If enough of you continue EoS without me, I will pick it back up after a break. If you don't continue, then there is no reason for me to continue because this is not about me, it is about you.

If you feel the need to rest, just take a break, there is nothing worse than "tiredness of the material" (I myself have a break from FO4 and Skyrim and taking screenshots ).
As for the event, despite that I participated only twice, I always tried to look at all contributions and it was nice to watch, so I hope that there will still be room for such an event in Skyrim / Fo4.

A break is good, because it makes you understand if this is something you still want to put energy and mind into. We both know this takes a lot of time and work effort - and we do it for the community out of our own free will - so it's easy to start feeling obligated to continue something, even if the event is pushing the limits. I wouldn't lay the future of this event in the hands of others though. I realise it will bring you some answers, but you started off with this event after reviving Les's idea without no-one saying you should, so even if the event is meant for the community, you are still the one that must feel passioned about it. It doesn't matter if there are only a few people contributing as long as you feel it's a fun and rewarding thing to do. So yes, take a break, you've earned it, but make the call yourself about doing EoS in the future. Some things need someone to lead them...

Thank you, Rick. I knew that you would understand completely and you do. I will be back because what drives me is the community. My wife is a professor and as she heads off to work I say, "Enjoy the good ones." And that is what I have to do here.

I hope you don't mind me commenting here, as my message concerns the two of you.
I had to hold off posting yesterday for fear of typing something I may have regret later !
Still, I am going to have to curb what I have to say.
I really appreciate what both of you have done, voluntarily, for the good of the community. I know you have put so much time and effort into pulling us all together, giving us a common goal to work to and encouraging us to improve our screenshots.
I am so sorry this happened to your compilation, AJ, and I fear the very same thing is going to occur when you post yours too, Rick.
I totally agree on Rick's message on taking a break, and also Organonmodell may have a point about dropping the frequency.
We will keep the home fires burning !!

Thank you kindly for the concern! I do hope though, I'm going to be able to dodge this "bullet" for my event. I've been running it since February last year after all, and so far, so good. I'm not entirely sure what went wrong with the latest EoS compilation, but I'm going to take a wild guess considering the four shots been taken down did include outfits from assets not supported here at Nexus. They do have a rule that states illegal/stolen mods are not allowed or else Nexus would be drawn into possible copyright issues. They can of course don't keep track of all the games on their site - mods and images - so therefor it's more easy to spot - or get reported - when it's done through a community event like EoS.

Which means, I - or any curator - do have some sort of responsibility when we pick our images, because we can make the selection out of what's legit and what's not. We can't be fully sure though unless we track every mod site (which is impossible), but sometimes it's more obvious. I go by this rule if I can when doing my compilations, so maybe that's why I haven't been "in trouble" for 17 themes?

Of course, my themes are probably more open for different approaches too with landscapes, storytelling, objects or even abstract art. I'm not saying you can't do the same with EoS - I even suggested this to AJ, to make more specific mini-themes within the theme so to speak - but it's still far easier with something called Water, Nightmare, Red or Dawn Will Come...

Thanks a lot for the great support!

I cannot keep track of all that might be prohibited by the Nexus, that is really on the maker of the image. It is inherently a problem with a event that deals with outfits because they are one of the objects most frequently ported from other games. It has an appeal because Skyrim's vanilla clothing is hideous. So I do appreciate that the Nexus offers much better looking clothing. Be on the lookout because the rules regarding this are going to be spelled out in an EoS post later this week.

It is understandable that everyone needs a break especially after all that drama but I hope you will return. I also understand that being curator of such event is not easy, with finding sets, making compilations but you sure has inspired many to post their works and it is great. And when I first saw your Sunday Elegance event you sure have inspired me too. I still have some ideas for my sets and plan to mark them as Sunday Elegance.
I always viewed Sunday Elegance as a fun event, where everyone can relax, have fun and share their wonderful works… seems like something so nice and lighthearted did not go unnoticed by those who just can’t stand anything happy and fun, so there was a lot of drama caused by those people. I am amazed at some people who vilify fun events, ruin good mood of many and then probably laugh when they get what they want - the closure of such event. I’ve seen it before on other forums and if you go and never return those who made offending comments will win.

I could care less about "winning". I am taking a break so that I don't do something I will regret. I have a close and dear friend that did that and I miss her a lot. But I need to be clear that EoS is about us, all of us. And I am fairly sure, at this point, that EoS would go on without me. We will see what happens and just how committed we are about this.

I'm sorry to hear this, AJ, but I fully understand. You're doing this voluntarily and honestly, as someone else said, it's a thoroughly light-hearted event, allows members to interact with other members in an activity and just have some fun. Why some people waste so much time vilifying something that's so harmless, I can't fathom. Honestly, I save my energies for far more important real world concerns--if I personally don't like something, I just move on. There's also a block button: you don't like what you see, block it, for Pete's sake. Anyways, I wish I could have participated more in the last few weeks, but I was busy doing other things. If you decide to pick up the torch again, I'll be there (or try to be anyway ). In the meantime, will enjoy seeing your sets, plus I want to see what happens with Reynald and the lady of his heart.

Enjoy your well deserved break AJ, I will still be contributing an EoS set as I really enjoy doing them and have lots of fun checking out all the other sets people post.
You have worked tirelessly on putting together compilations, and have done a fantastic job! Take care mate, and see you after your break.

    Warm regards, Michael

I am a great fan of all of these community based themes. The fact I do not contribute to this particular one, has more to do with the fact it's not appealing to me, I feel that my "strongpoints" lay elsewhere, I am a fan of this theme though and are amazed by what people can produce,..
This has all nothing to do with the fact that I think you have done (and hopefully will keep on doing) a fantastic job in spreading "elegance" throughout this imageshare that goes beyond dresses and the more obvious meaning of the theme,.. I highly respect that attitude.
I can imagine that you are in need of a break, being the driving force behind such a theme in the elegant way you have been doing this can drain oneself.
Unfortunately is that "spreading elegance" is not the same as receiving it equally. I'm aware you know this and accept this, but it can still have an impact.
So,.. take your rest and hopefully there will be enough people willing to carry this theme during that time.
    I wish you restfull times,..

I really do appreciate it Erwin. I have tried to hide a lot of the drama. I cannot hide this. I do not blame the moderators for this drama. I blame the folks who know that their way is the only way to do things. If you do not do it their way and continue in defiance of their superior understanding of the way things should be, they will find a way to stop you. This will make the world a better place because it works the way they want it to be. There is a wonderful word in the English language, via the Greek, for it - hubris.

Thanks for all your effort in curating this theme. This has been fun, and seeing everyone's work kept inspiring me to be a little more creative or try something new each time. Can't believe something so light-hearted such as this could attract drama. You certainly deserve a break. I'll definitely keep contributing from time to time.

Sorry to hear there's been drama - I'm only active on the Fallout side but I'd like to participate more in your themes, aj!

(I don't know all the details but I'm assuming somebody got triggered over a nipple, I presume. You already know what I'm going to say... haha!)
