About this image

Hello!

I sadly have to inform I will be away for some time. Depression has clawed it's way back into my mind, filling every void with a dominant darkness. I feel...listless at the moment, so I need a break from everything. I will present the "Witchcraft" theme in due time, so please have patience. Deadline for the theme is tomorrow midnight, CET.

I haven't really been playing Skyrim at all lately which is very rare in my case. I've settled with RPG's in "old school"-style with "Pillars of Eternity" and even some "Baldur's Gate". It takes me back to earlier days, days which felt easier.

I also have an enormous decision to make considering the fact I'm having more than 22.000+ screenshots at Flickr. As most of you already know, Flickr will only allow 1000 images from the beginning of next year. This means - unless I decide to pay for PRO membership which will hurt my very poor economy - nearly every set I've uploaded here at Nexus will have to be erased. Naturally this also includes the theme sets, unless I figure something out. In honesty, I can't be bothered about it right now, but it sometimes feels this might be the killing blow for me as a screenarcher. A bit dramatic perhaps, yes I know, but it's a vast archive I've built at Flickr.

I need to ponder about this...and I need a break from Skyrim and Nexus. I'm NOT leaving, I'll be back. I'll probably upload smaller sets even during the coming weeks, but please forgive me if I greet your comments and praise with silence. This goes for any pm's too. It's not because I'm trying to isolate myself, I'm simply in the shadows right now. This also means the 13th theme will be somewhat delayed. I do not know for how long. That's the best I can give you...

Thanks for understanding!

  //Rick

You've been very productive lately Rick. I did wonder how do you manage to take care after all this stuff. It's always a pleasure to read your posts and get inspired with your themes You know what they say - depression is like a cold for the mind. I got an episode last winter and actually an everyday walk and playing "Getting over it" helped of course I also went to a psychiatrist. Good luck

there are moments like this, take your time, change your ideas.
I also had a bad, bad pass in 2013/2014.
We finish, good in, bad in, by taking over, you'll see

Sometimes we just have to embrace the darkness... only to get out strengthened and revitalized...
I wish you all the strength you need to overcome this difficult path.

I know you said "no communication", but please read my PM. I don't want those images to be deleted.

Bummer, dude. Take your time, do your thing. The great sell-out of Flickr is a major arrow to the knee for screen-archers and photographers of all media. The powers that be might be able to take your art, but they can't take your creativity, your talent, your eye- your artistry. In the mean time, we'll hold it down here. Well, the rest of these good folks will- I'm mostly away murdering bears in ancient Greece, but I reckon I'll come back to the wilds of Skyrim one of these days. See you in the future (Fallout) or the future (actual).

P.S: Tincture of Mimosa (Albizia julibrissin) flowers is about the most potent non-pharmaceutical mood stabilizer I know of. It has no side effects other than making you feel fantastic, and is non-addictive. Way better than any big pharma crap. Though the flowers are out of season right now in the northern hemisphere, I bet you could find some already-made tincture at any good apothecary, herbal clinic, or decent natural foods grocery near you. Follow the advice of the herbalist on staff if they have one, otherwise take five drops every morning in a cup of warm mint or other herbal tea (nothing with caffeine). Stuff's saved my life, my relationship, and/or my job on more than one occasion.

    Hi Rick.
    When difficult times :
    - take a break,
    - get enough sleep,
    - treat yourself with a tasty meals,
    - do not stay alone and communicate more often with other people,
    - go on a trip to your favorite or new places,
    - spend time with your loved one or start a new romantic acquaintance,
    - start some big work - when you are busy with it, then there is no time to worry,
    - switch to something new, what do you like,
    - buy yourself, what you wanted for a long time.

Choose what you like - it should help !
But the best medicine is, of course, time.
Sorry for possible translation errors - since English is not my native language.
    And come back !
