Freyda was in no doubt as to the cause of the sound she'd heard.  Dragon!  She whipped her head around to Bishop.  "Let's get to Riverwood fast!  There's a dragon nearby, and i don't want to be caught out in the open if it's going to attack!"

"Sure thing, Princess," Bishop said, anxiously scanning the skies himself.  The sound was echoing off the cliffs on both sides of the valley, making it difficult to work out where the sound was coming from.  With Karnwyr bounding off behind them, Freyda and Bishop pounded along the road towards the village.  As they sprinted across the stone bridge at the north end of Riverwood, a dark shape passed overhead and they got a whiff of something - unworldly.

"By the Nine!" Bishop exclaimed, seeing the beast wheeling in the air, ready to come back for a second pass.

Frayda had her bow in her hand and she ran past the Sleeping Giant tavern, only half aware the guards were all loosing off arrows at the monster as it blasted a cone of ice along the street.  She bolted under the shelter of the blacksmith's overhang and swung around, grabbing for the first of her arrows.

The dragon now landed, atop the tavern, and belched a column of ice at the soldiers in the street....
