About this image

Yeah so were eyelid UVs always this smashed or did I do something to the raw femalehead.nif in the distant past? Top is what was driving me nuts since forever, bottom is after taking 5 minutes to actually do something aboot it at last. Kinda limited by publicly circulating textures being set up for the existing UVs so it'll never really be completely even. But yeah idk, seems like the type of thing that may have just been a thing since forever, or equally likely something was just shredded in my head nif.

Straight unloaded question. I can't honestly be sure if the UVs were always this jank.

It may be a combination of UVs and tri files for facial animations; but most likely a UV issue if you're using the original Skyrim head UVs. But I've noticed it on my own character's eyes no matter what textures I use, or even with the custom head and tri files I have made for her. I compensated by tweaking face textures to even out the eyes, making the right match the left to disguise it.

Then yeah it's the UVs, they're pretty mashed. I regenerated the nif from the bsa archive and they are pretty screwed up. Like you say, some texture sets are going to conceal this, some are going to exacerbate it. The displayed change is done by tweaking the UVs on the actual mesh, wonder if this is worth actually uploading as a fix, or if things are just too established around the existing broken UVs, and too far gone basically. As it is I had to compromise, but then again I don't build them totally symmetrical, and I don't think she's the type of girl to apply liner very expertly.

Seems pretty severe for a 7 year old title with a beautification obsessed community, thus my being really uncertain. My go to answer is generally that I did something awful, never fixed it and forgot.
