To the readers of this tutorial.

UPDATE (2018-05-02): Dear readers. Please discontinue in sharing this image post. We have received negative and abusive feedback. Thank you to those who helped, and apologizes to those we possibly offended.

Before I get into it, I would like to thank you for the positive feedback on my tutorial. I truly hope it will help people create image sets. I remember when I first started uploading images and saw the multiple images everyone was doing, and I initially believed you had to be a premium user to be able to do that. I'm almost positive a great many others think the same thing. I want to help people be aware this isn't the case, and how they can make image sets, too.

If it isn't too much to ask, I would appreciate it if you helped me spread the word about this tutorial. People who upload multiple images instead of making sets might not be aware of how to go about with this process, and if we got the word out and approached people, I'm positive it could help make the change we are striving for in the community. I am aware some of you have already gone ahead and started (which is fantastic!!) and I want to continue. I hope we can encourage current and newer users on this site to follow through. I will provide the links and a quick message you can post in the comments of images (please be aware some individuals might be offended or angered by this. If they need assistance in using the tutorial, I will provide help as best as possible):

Hello! Have you ever created an image set before? Clear and concise tutorials have been provided by respaldoshugo and dovahnok375 for your convenience. I hope this improves your screenarchery, and brings us one step closer to bettering the community. Here are the links:

    1) https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/images/699564
    2) https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/images/698075

(And, separately, I do not want to push this too hard and risk angering people. It's not my goal to make anyone upset, or to alienate anyone (we are not exclusive, we are a community!) only to help them learn something new. Knowledge is out there, but sometimes you don't know where to look... or when to ask.)

What's with the wordwall? How hard is it just to provide the link to the nexus image upload page?

If you had actually read it you would understand that this isn't about uploading a single image (something most people know how to do and wouldn't need a goddamn tutorial with directions to a link). It's about publishing multiple images in one single posting, so OP kindly provided detailed instructions.

Thank you for this. At the very least Nexus should be posting this as a mini tutorial or right on the media tab. They should include a system to post story sets or just sets into the media page so people don't have to go through a third party such as FLCKR,or Imgur or any of the others that are out there but at least you and Hugo are carrying the torch for them. We owe you a debt as does Nexus.

Hello, I'm one of these users that bangs out 5 images a day as I'm telling a story of my Skyrim character https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/users/37027000?tab=images I think I might be one of those who needs guidance on how to upload a set of pics in one go. Promise, no abuse. :p

Sorry to hear you've been getting flack for this. This is a great guide, with some ever-so-gentle, ever-so-subversive hints about appropriate content. Between you and Hugo, you've prepped a very readable, very informative introduction to doing the image thing on this site. Do you mind if I link to this in my own image sets? I'll respect your wishes and not push it on other folks, but this is really too beneficial and informative to let get buried.

Hi napoleon, I'm sorry I didn't respond sooner.

Yes, I would love it if you linked this in your image sets. It would be wonderful for you to help share this. Thank you so much

Thanks! I wish Nexus would make this (or respaldoshugo's tutorial you mentioned) required reading before allowing uploads to the imageshare section!

I wish for that, too! Maybe one of the staff will see this and reinforce the requirements for uploading? I think if more people reported images and insisted on using the adult content filter, changes could happen. I say 'could' because I know for a fact it won't, but it is always worth it to try. I really appreciate your comment, chickmetalhead.

What could be done, was done. Thanks also to you, Dovah .

Edit: Sorry, this answer must have been in the next entry... I pressed the wrong button (as always happens to me).

nice job! one thing to mention: did already someone asked nexusmods to provide a feature to upload one or two imagesets (e.g. with up to 10 pics) per day without the need to link to another site? this would be the best solution in my opinion and there would be no need to to waste time to open another account with another password and boring advertisements and another risk of losing personal data.

      Hello xrayy,

I am not personally aware if anyone has contacted Nexus Mods about providing a feature like the one you mentioned. It would be a great solution when it comes to time management. Having a limit (in the beginning to test the waters) would be a good idea, too. Have you considered reaching out to the management team and suggesting your idea?

      Thank you. Keep in touch!

Thanks for this very complete tutorial (and the others you have post). And thanks for mentioning mine. I know of at least three people who uploaded several images and reacted positively to the tutorial that I published. But those people knew about this tutorial because I put a comment in their posts. This page, like mine, will "disappear" in a few days, but if we all collaborate with comments that indicate the link, it will still be useful. Simply, something like this:

Hi, here will find something that might interest you.

    1) https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/images/699564
    2) https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/images/698075

My opinion is that Nexus should drastically limit the number of daily uploads per person, but since that is not going to happen, we can help the gallery improve its quality, at least in this respect.

(By the way, very beautiful image in the description.)

You're most welcome, and thank you. I remembered you making the tutorial and wanted people to have multiple options readily available, and to make sure people got a chance to see yours again. I will definitely help spread the word if I see people posting similar images that could be made into sets. I don't blame people if they don't know how to do this, but now they have the tools they need to learn.

I agree that Nexus should limit the upload count. Two might be better than five. It would be a drastic change, but it might be for the better. And if people are making image sets instead of putting up single shots, they might only want to do one or two a day, because they've done even more work, and have put more effort into making a gallery. Image sets could be the way to improve matters.

The image in the description was meant to be part of my last Colourful Sunday, but I limited the images-per-colour to two, so I had to leave it out. I'm glad you like it!

Yesterday I wrote a comment to a person who had published five images in a row, and today I saw that he modified his post converting it into only one. Obviously, only Nexus can change the habits of users, but if we manage in contributing something, even a minimum, I think it was worth it.

Well... but today one person got angry (with the image of an armor, and four more) ... I do not know if I will continue with this "crusade" unless I see more collaboration from other users. And the true, to be quoting my own post I do not like it too much...

I do expect some people are going to be defensive or angry when they're approached with this. But it really is for the better, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered writing this out and making it available. You wouldn't have made your version unless you wanted change and betterment. In the end, it is their choice if they want to help improve the image gallery, or not. I'll see if I can encourage others to help spread the word; having a wider range of supporters will be better.

If it's because they're too afraid to admit they don't know what to do, all they need to do is ask for help. I include on the bottom of every tutorial that I will provide assistance the best I can. I'm not thoroughly knowledgeable, but I'll share what I know. If it's because people just don't care (and I suspect this will be the case for many) then that's a different matter entirely.

I agree with everything you say ... but I am here exclusively to have a good time, and if with my comments I risk being treated with unkind words, as it just happened, I prefer not to do it. Now, if there were more people collaborating, it would be very different.

I just included a sticky post asking others to collaborate and help us out. But if it takes a turn for the worst, and things become violent or abusive, then we have to stop immediately. This is meant to be a positive place, not a war zone.

      We are only offering help.

I want to say thanks to @dovahnok375 and @respaldoshugo for trying so hard to educate people on the best way of posting images!

I have posted the links to your fine tutorials on several images done by people that have posted multiple separate images, and have had a mixed response. Mostly my comments have gone unanswered, with one user thanking me, and few being offended or worse. But I am giving up on trying to educate them after the response I got today. I don't expect everyone on nexus to act the way I think they should - but when they are actually proud of being jerks and don't care how their actions affect other people, well, I am going back to my previous method. I am just going to block the users that do this more than once. I would rather risk missing some images in the future, rather than feeling I am while trying to make this a better place for all of us.

To those who continue the fight, I salute you!

I'm sorry, friend , I saw the post and I found that guy's response regrettable. Many of those who invade the gallery with several posts in a row, do not do so because they do not know how to create sets, but because they do not mind "joder" (in Spanish, to make it sound smoother) the others. Who answered you rudely is one of them. This "campaign" could have been successful if others had joined it... it seems that did not happen.

I'm terribly sorry this had to happen. I wish more had joined us in achieving something, but people are people and change is next to impossible. I will leave this tutorial up here for others to discover on their own, and by continuing to make some in the future, they'll be able to reach this. I don't want to invite trouble or put anyone in a situation we can avoid. Again, I'm so sorry. Thank you so much, respaldoshugo and chickmetalhead, for your valiant assistance, and I apologize on behalf of those who treated you negatively for what people chose to say carelessly and without regard of their words.

To anyone in the future who comes across this tutorial and these comments, please know we in the community will always be happy to help you in regards to improving your screenarchery with our tutorials. I'm sorry our initial method of spreading the word caused any inconvenience for individuals, as it was not our intention to do so.
