I can't even get creation kit to work lately I broke it good.
Been wanting to make some male char's to travel with (there are some awesome presets out there to tweak), but nope.
I know there are some tutorials out there for standalones, such as this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3I1nvXOb3T4&t=353s It's in Japanese but it's more or less followable. I'm sure there are others as well.

I already watch that tutorial too, but... does Creation Kit has to be purchased or something? Because back then when I download Creation Kit, the application wont let me save the progress and keep crashing.
Creation kit should be available for free from Steam. As far as it crashing, yeah, it does that. So if you're working in it, save often!
Is it crashing all the time now, or just occasionally? I saved every few changes because it's so buggy.
Things like stats and voice and outfit can all be changed using TES5Edit (25859), which is an excellent, rock stable tool. However, sadly I don't know if it can be used to make a standalone character. :\And as far as I know, you have to use the CK to generate facegendata files.
