Nice pic There's something strange looking about the road, it almost looks as though the normal for the stone is inverted. Might be just AO making it look weird with the DoF though.
Ah, cool. So I'm guessing what I'm seeing is a shadow that's baked into the texture itself. Not the best of ideas unless the light source is always from a similar angle in an always shadowed area. What drew my attention is the fact that the "shadow" is falling in a different direction than all the other direct lighting shadows in the shot.
