"There was a time
when love poured into me.
When the fire within
burned with desire
- and a lust -
strong enough
to conquer anything.
The very whisper from you
made me feel invincible
and unforgotten.
A divinity among mortals,
a soul most rememberable.
But as love faded,
got lost and disappeared,
the red flames turned
into grey drapes of rain,
slowly drowning me
and making my heart cold.
A black rock
of sorrowful ice
freezes the very soul
which once was blazing.
Endless are the days
as memories still haunt me,
calling for those pieces of joy
once built upon
your near presence.
I cannot die
because the fragment
of what I once had
- held in my arms -
would die with me,
and it's too precious to loose
even if it means salvation.
So I stare
from the darkest realm
with just one window.
It's the final guidance of light
leading towards
a mass of streaming grey rain.
Heavenly tears
reaching my abyss
but to no avail.
I cannot reach out,
neither get washed clean.
Just...
just remember me!"

To go on is pain for sure, but to not is indeed unthinkable...very nice sentence which sums up the life of grief and solitude. I prefer it a lot more than "time heals all wounds", so thank you for these wise words, Patrick...
I like to dabble with emotions, even if it can be somewhat personal at times...
I had a moment down the memory lane and somethings are just very hard to forget about. I'm glad my writing could transfer some of the depths I felt to you as well...

I've done a few poems before, but it's been a while since I uploaded any of my lyrics to the Nexus. Yesterday I had a stroke of memories and some of them still feel very much alive and when that happens I tend to my writing. It's my way to deal with it I suppose...
