Maybe you can try this mod :

    http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/60220/?

there is a 1K optional file that should be cost max 2-4 fps on a 1 GB or 2GB VRAM GPU. In some cases users reported a fps gain with some tweaks described on the mods page.

By me, it boosted my frames by 4-5 fps on a 770 GTX 4GB.

That is indeed the mod I tried, but in it's regular version (as shorter grass). Droped my fps aboud 6-8 points (ended up with permanently below 20 fps in front of Whiterun) on a 660 GTX with 2GB VRAM.

I will try again with a lower resolution file and iMinGrassSize=100, thank's for the advice :-)

But perhabs it's just the end of the line for my PC Setting (i7 4790, 16 GB RAM, 660 GTX, SSD) with 114 mods installed :-)

      Hmm, I have a similar setting ( 4770K 3.9 GHz, 16GB 1600MHz ) except the GPU.

Around Whiterun I get 35 - 45 fps with Organic ENB.

That shouldn't be much for your PC, below 20 fps is very low for a 660 GTX and 4790.

I think you just need to cut down some 2k or 4k textures if you have some.

Try this tool : http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12801/? with the optional ini file for it.

      Do backups.

Nice image. That is a common problem it seems. Consider how you determine fps to begin with. Does that process have a hit on fps? If so I have a solution.
