Direshold

Velrneda gazed at her father with apparent concern as he spat out out a steady stream of curses at the failing experimental spell. After the convergence of Oblivion he had slain and bound the souls of: Molag Bal, Mehrunes Dagon, and Namira. This was only possible by splitting a parallel universe from the main one in which they would be mortal. But with each victory, the shards of Valsk's soul consumed a little bit more of her father; until she assumed he would become Valsk's new body.

The Elder Dire turned to face her, “I need a break and you need another lesson in history.”

She sighed, and then waved for him to continue.

“You see there are two Elder Dires.” he stated with a sly grin. “Over two hundred years ago I tried to complete the convergence before, but I failed. In this alternative universe I saved the Skaal people from a more ravenous and twisted Hircine. However,” he gave a annoyed noise before proceeding, “time ran out and the secondary realm crumbled into nothing. As you know then the choices I made and the beings I met there would cease to be. My other self however, was a more noble minded wretch who broke a small amount of magic and brought himself and the people back here. For years the Skaal have since then feared Hircine and loved the Dire, whom they worship as a protector of their village. Mora has sadly discovered me through his connection with Valsk.”

As he spoke, the deadra led her to his private hall of wonders. There she gazed in awe past the many columns of black granite. There was tomes of forbidden knowledge, weapons of unbridled power, and relics from the gods themselves. He stoped before a weathered box of ebony and stooped to open the golden latch. Inside the werewolf skin lined vessel, lay a spear of exceptional craftsmanship. The spear of Hircine.

“Take it I fear you might need some additional strength soon.”

“But I thought Hircine still had his spear?” she asked in awe of the marvelous weapon.

“Oh he does, but I earned this from him in the other universe.”

She pulled her eyes away from the spear in her hands long enough to notice the empty alcove further down the dim hall. “What go's there?”

“Something that left me a long time ago.” he replied in a cold and dead manner.

As the company trudged among the cobblestone and wood streets of Riften, Hglec asked Gavlvich Fellfrost in a low voice, “Were is your friend?”

“Right there.” answered the white-haired giant in the same low tone. Fellfrost gave a motion of his head towards a rather handsome, yet shady looking figure in a urbane tunic.

When they neared the man he turned spoke to them in a calm and soothing accent, “What might you need, my fine fellows. A drop of werewolf blood perhaps? It is said to clean the soul like a fresh mountain-” He stop mid sentence when he recognized Fellfrost. “I swear I didn't tell him!”

“Knock it off Bryn! I have enough of your lies!” growled Fellfrost at the shady merchant. Then with a swift and sudden motion, he slammed the brown-haired man into the near by alleyway. “If it wasn't you then how did my foes find my child's family?” the towering nord reached behind him as if to draw his great-sword.

A look of pure panic crossed merchant's face and he sputtered out in fear, “Look! Look! It was not my men for the last time!”

Fellfrost lowered his hand.

“I dont know who did it, but there have been tales of a abomination to the north near lake Yogrim!”

“You better hope so.” muttered the white-maned warrior in response.

As soon as the party left, the guild member ducked behind a near by build and chuckled to himself, “And so the board is set.” His face, skin, and garb melted away to reveal the hulking form of The Elder Dire. When the beast turned around he was amazed to see a slack-jawed orphan boy gazing at him. With a disgusted grunt, the dire flicked his finger at the boy and his neck snapped like a twig.

Windhelm

The split person of The Elder Dire, who went by the name Hakim, slipped off the ship from his trip from the Skaal Village. When the Convergence of Oblivion failed before, his other self attempted to trap him behind. Back in those days he disguised himself as a Nord warrior called Hakim. As he dwelt among them, he leaned that the lure of power had changed him into a beast. Now he used his shape-shifting ability to protected the Skaal from the wrath of any beast or man. In his disguise, he walked the weathered streets of Windhelm with ease.

The Nexus of Souls

She knew not how long she had hid there, but in that place she learned her name: Valah daughter of Valah and Harnkil Iron-Snow. It was there that the blade Fellfrost taught her the magic of the dire. And it was there that she heard the mind of her captor prepare a ambush for Hglec and her grandfather. Summoning the dire's magic she attempted to speak to Hglec, to warn him, but a unknown force blocked the spell. There was only one person left then. She repeated the process, this time to her sister Bruma.

Lots of stuff going on here and I like how you broke it all down. There are a lot of players and names so doing my best to follow them all. Elder Dire, Velrneda, and Fellfrost are the ones I am most familiar with. So Hakim is the alternative Universe Elder Dire, the "nicer" version that helped the Skaal. Seems like they are still at odds and Hakim is an enemy of the Elder Dire. So Valah is the granddaughter of Fellfrost then?

The Elder Dire and the creation of Valsk is interesting - so seems like he might become Valsk over time based on what his daughter has said. All very intriguing.

Good action pose for the main image as well

The next chapter should cover a lot of the backstory of Hakim and the blade Fellfrost as well as clan Fellfrost in general. The split universes can be a bit tough to work with when it comes to writing. I am temped to split the next chapter into two parts: Revelation and A Magic Best Left Unknown If that give you any hints as to what happens next. And yes Valah is Gavlvich's granddaughter, short family tree starting with Gavlvich:
Gavlvich married Ideleif who gave birth to Wulf, Halvisk, Valah, and Jorim.
Wulf married Freya who was with child when the three of them were executed by the Thalmor.
Halvisk and Jorim were butchered along with their mother by the Thalmor.
Valah was captured by the Thalmor at age 16 when they murdered her family, and was held hostage.
Gavlvich saved her later that year.
Valah married Harnkil Iron-Snow and gave birth to Valah the Younger, Foijlda, and Bruma.
