cause it affects shine and im trying to figure out if in vanilla its not shiny at all or if it's related only to that ebony retexture... lol sry if it looks weird m pretty sure i am XD
the shine is most likely due to him using an ENB. If you have one installed, go into your skyrim directory. open a file named enbseries.ini . Inside that file you will find Reflection settings, specular light settings and imagebasedlighting settings. All of those will have effect on the shine and gloss of an item.

BTW This is one of the best armors mod in skyrim.
