Note: Hircine, however, is my own mod
Also sorry for all the long comments ... I am rather passionate about my writing and sometimes get carried away with explaining things! I just like really developing a highly detailed story so spend a lot of time thinking about this stuff.
That's what I thought Hircine wanted to provide the form of werewolf to Erik, for make him one of his hunter. But I really did not think it was going to be in reality, a test for Erik! Maybe I'm wrong but I feel that Hircine would still enjoyed Erik accept ...
It was a great game of seduction that Hircine to play, I really appreciate this very sensual and intense description, it represents very well the Daedra. it's really well written and when Erik to put an end to this game of seduction it was a radical change of atmosphere, I do not know how to explain, but it's so well done and so immersive.
We can feel that Erik was uncomfortable, but he remained respectful until the end. I was a little afraid that Erik finish by yield, but he was extremely noble and his loyalty for Grim is unquestionable, preferring to suffer death rather than betray his friend, like Grim, Erik is a great man. If he accepted, I do not know what would have been the reaction of Grim but I think it would have caused a lot of problems ...
I understand Erik is not looking forward to tell about that to Grim
Powerful chapter Jon with a great quality text and beautiful pictures, I love the lost expression of Erik on the second shot and Hircine is awesome!
Erik is a good lad and loyal. Also I try to remember the Nords belief in an after life (and there seems to be ample proof that there is one) and better to go to Sovngarde with honor and loyalty then to betray a trusted friend. I think that fits the theme and ideals of the time.
So pleased you liked the shots and how I depicted Lord Hircine Thank you for the comments Franck!
I do wonder what this ring will do and how Grim is going to feel that Erik has a gift like this from Hircine. Time will tell and I did have a laugh at the last statement and him not looking forward to telling Grim lol........
Awesome shots and great chapter....... looking forward to the next one
I have the lore for the ring all wrapped up and think it will be very fitting and accurate sounding. I just finished all the shots I need for Chapter 3 and have lots of notes. Just have to find time to sit down and write it now
But Grims meeting with Nocturnal comes first ...
Outstanding!
A great chapter and I kind of knew that Erik wouldn't accept Hircine's offer but was still immensely pleased to see him turn it down. I do wonder what Hircine's augmentation of the Black Company ring will mean for Erik... a limited once a day shift to werbeast form? Hmm, will be keen to see the next chapter.
I had to chuckle at Erik being such a dolt to call Hircine's gift tainted... RIGHT TO THE PRINCE's FACE! Talk about wanting to have you ass handed to you! I can just see grim chuckling when Erik tells him that bit!
And now Erik has his very own little wolf pup to care for... And a playmate for Wolfgar too!
The ring is a pretty special gift from Hircine even though he made light of it as "nothing special" ... well a Daedric Prince doesn't put his own blood into a ring for a mere mortal and just have it be a trinket
Grunt I am still playing with. I suspect Fenrir nugded Grunt along to keep an eye on Erik at the Hunting Grounds ... only turns out Erik did just fine on his own. Whether they return Grunt to his family or adopt him I am still debating - more of a mechanics issue right now.
And yes Erik ... his exposure to Princes, other than Molag Bal, got him just a tiny bit to comfortable with them. Probably comes from being with Grim to much. He won't make that mistake around Hircine again!
Erik loyalty to Grim is irreplaceable, and that's why I always love him.
