Skyrim is huge especially without fast travel

I currently try to avoid fast travel because I think this gives me a feeling of a bigger Skyrim and I can enjoy the beauty of the landscape. (After two years the game is stable) Sometimes I have to look on the map, which road I have to take. When suddenly a bear joined our party ^^
