It's been a while since I updated this mod. I didn't work on it a long time but I recently started again and finished the next version.
Version 2.0 is about to come and it's a complete overhaul for this mod. With this overhaul I attempt to give the combat in Skyrim an intense realistic feeling. The mod already got that feeling a litte bit, but it wasn't intense enough in my opinion. So I revamped the values completely to achieve this. A bandit with little to no armor doesn't really stand a chance anymore if you're really good, it's just a matter of 2 or 3 extremely well aimed hits. But you do the same if you also wear light armor. It's now all about hit and not to get hit. It gets even harder for the player because I implemented scripted AI for Locational Damage. Yes, scripted AI. If you let your enemies hit you they will aim to the best bodyzone to hit in the current combat situation. So you will have to do the same! No supid spamming of attacks anymore. You have to time and aim your strikes correctly while blocking incoming attacks.

All changes are covered in the list below. Have fun with the new version! :-)

  • Scripted AI AI only made for Locational Damage - the feature I love the most in this update. NPCs can now estimate the current combat situation and their enemies. They use different tactics to bring their opponents down. You have too much HP? They will aim to your throat to bleed you down. You keep attacking them with a sword? They will aim to your arm to disarm you. You keep blocking attacks? They will aim to your left shoulder to prevent you from blocking at the next given opportunity. You're not wearing a helmet? Prepare your head to get smashed. Your sprinting away from them? Prepare to get knocked down. Sounds hart? It is. But if you use your possibilites variantly and react to their actions instead of just attacking them you will win. Because your enemies can and WILL counter your actions. They have it easier if you just use one action all the time.

  • Diversity Diversity is a new system rewarding a varied style to fight. It prevents you from hitting the same bodyzone over and over again and hoping to get the effect, for example the knockdown of the feet-critical, because now your opponent can react more easily to the same actions but not to constantly changing actions. You will have more success playing varied than doing the same all the time.

  • Magic support A highly requested feature was Locational Damage for Magic. Here it is. Because it's very hard to hit small bodyzones with magic I just implemented the 3 body areas (also used for percentaged damage) for magic: head area, chest area, leg area. Each of the areas has one effect except for the chest area where the back zone knocks the target back if it's stumbling.

  • Stealth support Also a requested feature. Attacking an enemy while being undetected grants you a higher critical strike chance and you deal a percentage of your targets maximum life as bonus damage. The amount is equal to 15% if you crit the head, otherwise 5%. This doesn't support kill moves though, so you need to do enough damage for a kill move without this bonus damage. But it can be useful if your target would normally barely survive your sneak attack.

  • MCM Another highly requested feature was a better configuration menu. Some users recommended MCM and I also saw many mods using it already. I was amazed after testing it. SkyUI did a great work with it. Now does Locational Damage support it too. It provides you with a well-arranged menu with the ability to adjust settings the way you like it. For example you can disable bodyzones, higher or lower the chance for a critical strike at a bodyzone or even disable a whole module (Melee, Archery, Magic). Definitely a great addition to this mod.
  • Other changes:

  • Bodyzone Solar Plexus removed. Heart zone is now at its biological correct spot instead and is integrated in the chest bodyzone. It's much easier to hit now, but you need a power attack for it (melee; no condition for archery) and I lowered the damage for critting it. It deals now 20% of current health of the enemy as bonus damage instead of 90%. Stamina damage is now 40% (was 50%).

  • Higher impact on the criticals by the distance, especially for close-combat archery. Good positioning is now a more important factor for criticals.

  • Many bugfixes, improvements and adjustments.

    i'm using the current version and i liked it, however i do find myself re-loading more, i have glass armor with about 181 DR (using aetherial crown tho which i guess is what killing me most of the time) and i've been perking on HP from level 1 (got 400 health atm) TLR if my enemy hits first i'm screwed...

    hope you can reduce the hardcoreness of it but i guess not many people ask that, so maybe have a softcore version as well with lower injury values?

     

    but all in all am very much looking forward to the upgrade.

    Great work man! I really like this mod.
    If I want to upgrade from 1.1.1 to 2.0, I have to delete the older version or just update it? (I'm using NMM.)
