Expect them too in dales, fens, and mountains.
For Nirn itself is alive and with us interrelated
From the Earthbones shaped in all their thousands.

But one et'Aeda was first in laying down his blessed bones,
Called Storyteller, for he sang Nature's laws,
And it's His humors that coalesced into the precious stones,
Ceded precipitates of this first cause.

Four parts comprised His body entire
Named Earth, and Air, and Water and Fire.
The first is em'rald, bulwark of Earth
Of the four the firmest and most of worth.

Of this dark bile melancholic, defense is extolled (HEAVY ARMOR, RESISTANCES, BLOCK)
As an aid against poison and disease. (RESIST POISON, RESIST DISEASE)
Strong too 'gainst weapons, proof also versus spells fiery and cold, (HEAVY ARMOR, RESIST FIRE, FROST)
Green smaragd wards thunderbolts best of these. (RESIST SHOCK)

No friend of visions, spectres nor daedra, prizing forms concrete,(BAD FOR ILLUSION, CONJURATION)
For it fancies their shaping and changing,(GOOD FOR ALTERATION)
It aids the physique, lends tomblike silence to matters discreet. (HEALTH, STAMINA, MUFFLE)
Last, it smooths a transaction's arranging. (BARTER, PERSUADE)

Four parts comprised His body entire
Named Earth, and Air, and Water and Fire.
The second is amethyst, Air so clear;
For travel, thinking, dispelling fear. (BAD FOR FEAR ENCHANTMENT)

The sanguine lavendine, unfettered stone, guides the arrow's flight (FORTIFY ARCHERY)
And its swiftness also smiles on the blade. (FORTIFY 1 and 2 HANDED)
Among sundry combatants it blesses the nimble and light, (FORTIFY LIGHT ARMOR)
And it'll shroud those who stalk in the shade.(FORTIFY SNEAK)

Although it's no bastion, it yet guards 'gainst delusion and theft, (BAD FOR ILLUSION, PICKPOCKET)
For rather than body it hones the mind. (GOOD FOR MAGICKA)
It turns aside poison, expedites technique dextrous and deft, (RESIST POISON, FORTIFY LOCKPICK)
And insight's spark for the magic inclined. (GOOD FOR SHOCK DAMAGE, MAGICKA)

Named Earth, and Air, and Water and Fire.
The third is sapphire, Watery boon,
For those who would to magic attune.

The phlegmatic corundum, when showing the deepest azure (BLUE SAPPHIRES= AZURE CORUNDUM)
Quickens enchantments, fancies and healing. (FORTIFY ENCHANTMENT, ILLUSION, HEALING)
Taking adaptation innately, you can also be sure, (FORTIFY ALTERATION)
Fluid graces the hand that is stealing.(FORTIFY PICKPOCKET)

It confounds the fletcher, for it dampens the missile and string, (BAD FOR ARCHERY)
Likewise splashing's no good for a parry.(BAD FOR BLOCK)
Yet, soothing fever and flames, it averts calefaction's sting. (HEALING, RESIST FIRE)
To the frigid it's also contrary.(RESIST FROST)

Four parts comprised His body entire
Named Earth, and Air, and Water and Fire.
The fourth is ruby, Fire's delight,
Of war and the clash of weapons bright.

The choleric corundum, when colored like full bodied wine (RED RUBIES=RED CORUNDUM)
Grants vigor to all manner of fighting.(FORTIFY ARCHERY)
Curses wax cruel, weapons grow sharp and plate and mail align, (FORTIFY DESTRUCTION, 1-2 HANDED)
Both their craft and their useage uniting.(FORTIFY SMITHING, FORTIFY HEAVY ARMOR)

Like its cerulean sister, it masters the icy blast,(RESIST FROST)
But goes further in diverting lightning. (RESIST SHOCK)
It closes your wounds, tempers your will, and makes endurance last, HEAL REGEN, STAMINA, RESIST MAGIC)
But can't conceal; its tone's too brightening. (BAD FOR SNEAK, BAD FOR PICKPOCKET)

Four parts comprised His body entire
Named Earth, and Air, and Water and Fire.
Yet a Fifth sparkles with light mysterious:
Diamond is Spirit, from far Aethyrius.

Called Adamas for its toughness, strongest of resolution(FORTIFY HEAVY ARMOR, BLOCK, UNARMED)
The diamond's hardness springs from perfection. (FORTIFY RESISTANCES)
Absolute in health and mind, it refines the constitution (FORTIFY HEALTH, MAGICKA, STAMINA)
And to armor lends strength and protection.(FORTIFY HEAVY ARMOR, SMITHING)

Its way is twin: physical ideal and prism divine,
Thus there's nary a need where it falters. (HAS NOTHING ITS BAD FOR)
Both the daedra and wraith it will to Oblivion consign (GOOD FOR TURN UNDEAD AND BANISH)
And it bolsters the summoner's altars. (VERY GOOD FOR CONJURATION)

In this world, humors express in form, direction and seasons
With purpose through the passage of the year.
And so through every need of Art, to him who knows the reasons
The benefits of the gems doth appear.
