For all of the items added by More Interesting Loot for Skyrim v3.0, there are several different ways their magical enchantments might work. Below is a description of these differences and basic details of how they work. This article is not intended to give away anything I would consider a spoiler.

Please note that some items will only give vague descriptions (without exact #s, for example) of what the effect does. In such cases, this is intentional for enchancing role-playing and immersion.

Set Bonuses
Some items belong to a set (obvious or not) and extra magical bonuses may apply when wearing multiple items within a related set.

For example, a set of clothing may give a special bonus when you wear two of its items (ie both a Hood and Robe). A different or more powerful bonus may apply when wearing three items (ie a Hood, Robe, and Boots).

Passive Effects
As with vanilla Skyrim, most items added by this Mod have Passive Effects, meaning that once you equip the item, its magical effects automatically are applied to you. The vast majority of such effects are permanent as long as you continue to wield or wear the item.

In most cases, the description of the item will detail what the magical effect(s) are.

Once wearing or wielding the item, details of the magic effect are also (in most cases) displayed in the Magic Effects list.

If you take off an item, the magic effects will go away.

Items may have a single Passive Effect, multiple Passive Effects, or no effects at all. In addition, items may also have one or more Lesser Powers (see below) as well.

Items with multiple or more powerful Passive Effects, may also have one or more negative side effects (ie a negative Passive Effect).

Lesser Powers
Just like in vanilla Skyrim, Lesser Powers are magical effects that are activated (by pressing the 'Z' key, for example) for a temporary duration.

For most items added by this Mod, these Lesser Powers have varying degrees of cooldown - meaning that once you activate the power, it may not be activated again for a certain period of time. Often, the more powerful the power is, the longer the cooldown period will be. If you try to activate a power before its cooldown period is finished you will see a message and hear a sound indicating failure.

Note: an idea for the future is to have items with bad side effects if you try to activate during cooldown!

Some rarer and more powerful items may grant the player with multiple Lesser Powers.

Any of the Lesser Powers granted by an item will show in the Lesser Powers list. Just as in vanilla Skyrim, select the power, and use your activation key ('Z' for example) to activate the power.

Items may have a single Lesser Power, multiple Lesser Powers, or no Lesser Powers at all. In addition, items may also have one or more Passive Effects (see above) as well.

Items with multiple or more powerful Lesser Powers sometimes will have negative side effects (ie a negative Passive Effect).
