Skyrim

The Elder Scrolls V Rewritten: Arvak began as a response to a request by Tj_Nightbringer for a skeletal version of Arvak. Nothing more, nothing less. Since then, it has evolved into a full themed texture replacement package with multiple levels of detail. And there is yet more on the horizon. For the first time ever I have chosen to reveal to the public the planned roadmap for all of the remaining addon features.

Version 1.2:
Brand new textures for all available themes.
Reorganization of detail categories, with the current sizes reclassified from “Extreme Definition (XD), High Definition (HD) and Standard Definition” to “HD, SD and Low Definition (LD)” respectively.
Introduction of a new XD category with textures at up to 4096x4096px resolution (not suitable for regular gameplay).
Adjustment of “flesh” and “saddle” meshes to better fit “skeleton” mesh.
Improvement of existing “skeleton” mesh by replacing alpha-channel-based ribcage with geometry-based ribcage.

Version 1.3:
Introduction of new “Bone Horse” creature (non-unique version of Arvak with altered physical features).
Introduction of new “Stable Master” NPC.
Introduction of “Aspect” system (on-the-fly switching of texture themes, each with special features for the player to make use of. Aspects include “Bone”, “Flame”, “Frost”, “Storm”, with hidden “Game Jam” aspect).
Reworking of “Reaper” NPC
Quest for the player to wrest control of Arvak's soul from the Reaper (aspect system disabled until completion of quest).

Version 1.4:
Addition of two remaining aspect forms (“Mist” and “Wrath”)
Addition of Dragonborn addon module and “Ash” aspect.

I'm still looking for beta testers for this project. There are still 9 slots left open on the team at time of writing.

I don't know if you're still updating/reading comments/etc for this mod? -- but after reading the article, I became curious about the "Mist" and "Wrath" aspect forms. Could one of them perhaps be green flames?

I love the retextures you've done for Arvak, who really needed something done about his plastic body, and I thought the "undead" version worked really well with my " Death of the Four Horseman " style of gameplay. But since Death actually rode a pale/pallor/green horse, I thought some green/teal flames on bleached bones would work better.

Anyway, I was just curious! Still absolutely happy about what you've done so far.

Honestly not sure anymore. This is my second oldest project, and at the moment I'm hard at work a project which is much older; I got my hands on some new tools back in December which dramatically reduce the time that it takes to generate assets, so there's some hope for Arvak yet. A pale horse would likely be an aspect tied to the Undeath mod by Antioch08. I've seen a couple of requests for aspects based on spells from that mod, and I'll admit I wouldn't mind adding something from that mod myself (buggy though it may be, it is fun to play as a litch).

To answer your question about Mist and Wrath though, take a look at he Mistmen and Wrathmen wandering the Soul Cairn, and you'll have an idea of what I have in mind for those two aspects.
