V1.4 of Fleetford is now nearing completion, really pleased with what I've managed to do with this update, and I hope it will make the mod much more versatile for players who do multiple playthroughs with different characters.
Users will now be able to choose, in-game with each of their characters or save-games (the choice is permanent, no switching after you've picked):
1) FACTION SPECIFIC GUARDS
The old single "guard" has been replaced by four individual, handmade unique guards (including a guard leader/captain) for each faction choice available. Players will be able to select from:
- Imperial
- Stormcloak
- Thieves Guild
- Dark Brotherhood
- Mage's College
- Non-alligned (Dwemer style armour)
The new guards have a home underneath the guard tower (new custom cell), and faction choice will also affect some other things, such as minor-decorative touches in the town exterior.
2) HORSE COLOUR
Players will be able to choose which colour horse (from all the vanilla non-unique horses) they would like.
3) SHRINES
Players will be able to choose which god's shrine (from the 8) they would like in the loft/player home, and pick between Talos and Nocturnal for the secondary concealed shrine.
Apart from that, the town has expanded and been improved, but still retains the original feel and quality which many people have complimented.
The whole town now has night-time lighting.
The Argonian staff have moved out into their own home, another new and unique custom cell.
All NPCS have been given actual names (lore-friendly) where appropriate.
The area over the river has been expanded to include a store, and the Argonian home (an abandoned East Empire Company outpost).
Extensive work on optimisation has been carried out, including navmeshes, landscaping, vanilla references and mod-cleaning, reducing texture memory use etc. This is still a mod that can push your system, but it is stable, and the improvements have allowed the expansion.
I estimate that I am only a few days away from completion, and would really really like some advanced beta testers to test this before it goes live on the Nexus. I'm confident that this version is at least as stable as the last version, but the more help I have to iron out any wrinkles, the sooner it can be uploaded.
