Skyrim

So a few days ago I mentioned that I was planning work on a collaboration project that I'm very excited about; one that will turn Frostfall as you know it upside-down. I'd like to talk about it now since I hate keeping secrets!

For Moonpath to Elsweyr by Muppetpuppet and future desert landmass mods

Some general information:
What is it? Sun's Height will be an add-on to Frostfall to bring heat exposure to the table when venturing in desert landscapes, such as those added by Moonpath to Elsweyr. Frostfall will be required for Sun's Height to work. It will not (and will never) be offered as stand-alone. It will, however, be a separate download.

How will it work? Sun's Height will open the exposure system in the other direction. When playing in desert areas, you're going to have to think backwards; in a hot area, the coolest you can get is "Comfortable", much how you can't get "too warm" in Frostfall in traditional Skyrim areas; getting wet is now refreshing, not harmful;, and that armor that granted lackluster protection to the cold might be exactly what you need to beat the heat.

Will Last Seed factor in to this? Absolutely. If playing with Last Seed (my planned Primary Needs mod), your thirst and fatigue rates will be affected by the heat.

What areas will you support?Sun's Height's effects will never be felt in the Skyrim worldspace. For that, you'll need to go south. I will support Moonpath to Elsweyr's areas, and other desert / Elsweyr-based landmasses as they become available.

Is this taking away from Frostfall development? No. This is all on paper right now. I am very actively working very hard to get Frostfall 1.6.1 finished before I begin work on anything else.

When's it come out? Don't know yet. Might be before I start working on Last Seed, might be after. We'll see.

Sun's Height will take its place next to Frostfall, Last Seed, and a future camping, injury, and locational damage mod as part of a group of mods called the Skyrim Survivor Series.

Now, back to work for me on the update! I hope you have a good weekend!

If anyone reads this awhile back ago I asked Chesko what was his future plans and he said Frostfall is done, though I'm sure he'll keep updating it with a few more features, and he is working on Last Seed. He also he is probably going to take a break for awhile. Hopefully he will do Sun's Height, it would work well with Beyond Skyrim, if it ever gets finished.

Well, Manny_gt's mod The Gray Cowl of Nocturnal was just released mere days ago, and it adds an isolated part of Hammerfell's Alikr Desert to the game. As a result...I think having Sun's Height as an immersive addon would be really, really nice, if you still have plans to make this mod Chesko

not only the gray cowl of nocturnal but some great mods are coming up in the future like beyond tamriel, a mod with the premisses of sun's hight whould be highly apreciated.

So it seems like this is dead, but is there any other mod that does this? I haven't started Moonpath yet, but I don't know how Frostfall will handle it.

I'd hate to bump an old post, but given that plans for Last Seed have been scrapped, I take it that Sun's Height has been cancelled as well? Though we are quite a long time from release, demand for such a mod like this mod increase with the release of the Hammerfell and Elsweyr mods of the Beyond Skyrim project.

there are like no desert areas in skyrim though, right? but either way still excited for the rest of your skyrim survival series, they bring lots of immersion, which is what i love to see in skyrim

Sounds great. If we're lucky we might get some desert-based DLC/Addon where this could be used as well.
