I so hope everything stays on this levels of equilibrium for Dannee though I doubt it will. Her Dragonborn duties will always rear up and there's still the Thalmor threat which has lessened with Saadia's capture but not gone completely. I also wonder about some of the issues Jon raised below about Sam's brothers... i'm sure they would love to take the opportunity to 'get him' while his back is proverbially turned. Oh the potential for disaster!!
And as always, our girl looks simply stunning in the red gown. Truly I think I love red on her the best!
Well, Dannee's heritage indeed don't allow her to sit idly all the time, like every dragon she easily becomes bored with total state of tranquility and try to seek new adventures. Though of course, Sofie's constant presence and her love has made Dannee much more calmer than she ever was before her encounter with cute Sofie. Thalmor threat will never be gone, as long as Thalmor are present back in their homeland, so unless Dannee kills them all which is very daring feat even for Dragonborn, she will have to be vigilant. Sam ever scheming brothers also posses potential trouble, so in this case not only Dannee but Sam also stay vigilant too.
Thank you very much for your kind words about Dannee's new outfit! I also like it on her very much, roses really suit her, I think.
"Dannee turned to face her buddy, her friend, her lover.." is a nice line as your partner should be all of those things. Never just a lover, but more than that.
One question does come to mind though as they spend more time together. You talk about his brothers and his time away from home. Sam is spending a lot of time on Mundus. I wonder if this would have any effect on his thinking, perception, and power. Nothing major I mean, but ones environment can often have a subtle influence on ones thinking. Being confined into a mortal body, with mortal senses, and their emotions and habits ... I wonder what that might be doing to his overall sense of self as a Daedra.
In the reverse is also raises the question about what is happening back home. The Princes are always scheming. Could he be left without a home at some point, cast adrift in the mortal world while another (current or new) Prince takes over his realm? Or perhaps no one wants his realm? That would be a low blow.
Does a Prince have a responsibility to his realm and its people? Even the evil ones might fall under that. Or perhaps not. Just thinking out loud as you made me think of it.
On the other hand he is immortal so the time he has spent with Dannee is the blink of an eye so far.
And glad that you agree with me, that partner must be not only lover but buddy and friend too, because in my perception that is how long lasting relationship must go, with both partners having trust like friends and ready to discuss things... While relationship of couple being only lovers is tied more with only lust or passion, but lust and passion have a tendency to vanish after few years together in most cases that I've myself witnessed. If passion was the only foundation, without sense of friendship and trust, then the relationship usually falls apart.
Considering Sam absences from his home... I've carefully studied this question, to not retcon anything and found out in one books (Imperial Census on Daedric Lords, which I've fund on Imperial Library site) that in Reman Cyrodiil time of rule, he managed to summon Sanguine and he resided in White gold Tower for few years... Until he grew tired of Reman depraved rule and left, but that means that at least three years is possible for Sanguine to be absent. He is said to control thousands pleasure pockets realms, but I think he has his caretakers or chamberlains like Sheogorath do, since Sanguine could leave all his realms so easily at Reman's time rule or when he was in Skyrim, waiting for Dragonborn.
And on the other hand, we have Sheogorath's quest, where his Mania priest whom he has taken with him says that Sheogorath's absence which lasted more then ten years began to take hold on his realm, which slowly began to fall in disarray, with its inhabitants being almost at war with each other... So supposedly this is why Dragonborn agrees to face the Prince of Madness, to help his people.
So after reading all this, I've made a note that something like three years is safe for Daedric Prince to be at Mundus and in Dannee's stories Sanguine traveled around Skyrim alone or with her in Skyrim no longer than for four months until returning to his home... After being there to check everything out or to spend time in his usual life time, he did drop out for occasional visits which also did not last more then few months.
As for time in Mundus taking toll on Daedric Prince feelings or senses... well, when they travel in mortal form, their powers became more limited, but their senses and feelings remain the same as far as i know. Sanguine just more interested in mortals than any other Daedric Prince and spending too much time with them, I guess has made him more affable and not as haughty as his other brothers.
I am an avid fantasy reader and many times I come across powerful entities that take on human form and, over long periods of time, seem to adapt to the form getting very comfortable in it ... to the point that they start to feel bonded with it. For a real life example consider a spy who might take on another life for an extended period of time, possibly even falling in love ... it might be hard to separate the two situations.
A lot different for an almost god like being I know Just toying with ideas.
Outstanding work Nataly!
Great story.... wish I could write.
Nice shots to go with it.
Wish them both the best.
Exceptional work, Nataly :-)
