"Be a slave to fear - the worst kind of slavery".

It's incredible! Again, there are great parallels between the present and the distant past. Your character is going through again and again that it has once been. Children's play was the basis of invaluable experience. The difference is that the wooden enemies who feared the ax have been replaced by real people, desperate people who are fighting to the last drop of blood. Wooden enemies were doomed to destruction. The reality was more brutal than the world of children's dreams. And here is born of fear. Internal fear: it is is ruthless, it is manipulator, it doesn't know an alternative. And probably this is the most fierce battle.

I will soon be hard to find the words to express my gratitude for the pleasure I get from reading your stories. And soon I will start to repeat
    Continued success!

You know, I've read once that some people who needed to kill the other human being - like soldiers, or policemen in extreme situations - tried to imagined their victims weren't real people, that they were just figments of their imagination. Thankfully, my stories are just fiction, and not too serious as well, so I could make it different for Saga - she's been taking everything that was happening around her very seriously even during childhood. Dealing with people made of wood was a joyful experience but it was serious nonetheless. She felt respect for her enemies - just like grown Saga felt respect for the bandits she needed to kill in order to safe herself and her companion. And since she never truly grew up... connecting to her childhood memories was the only way to believe that she can defeat the nightmares, be it imaginary or real ones.
Thank you so much for your kind words, I appreciate all your comments!

So nice to hear you liked it! I must admit I am quite fond of young Saga - I like including the flashbacks with her in stories.
      Thank you!

Your words transported me to her early days when she cut down illusory enemies to save the world, to the moment when she stood up against real men to save her friend.

This episode was truly sublime, I really had a nice time watching it. I don't see anything wrong with making something that people would say is "Clichéd", I mean why would we abstain from doing something we want just because someone did something similar before?. It is absurd, to this I have always answered, that if it was done before, then I would do it now better than it was done before.

Actually, I don't see anything wrong with this either! I read way too much works of Russian Formalists to think there is something new under the Sun
I was just stating the simple fact that this particular motive has been used - maybe overused - so many times that it's almost a must-have for anyone who "writes fantasy". But it is still pretty sweet and fun to write.
Anyway, thank you for your kind words!
