Frame generation requires a few steps to set things up correctly:

This will result in screen tearing. To restore vertical sync and keep frame generation working properly, open Nvidia Control Panel, navigate to "Manage 3D settings", and then enable "Vertical sync" for your specific game.

Old framerate limiters don't work correctly. Check if they explicitly support frame generation first.

If you experience crashes while changing graphics settings in menus and are using an external overlay (RTSS, MSI Afterburner, Special-K, ReShade, etc...) try closing the overlay process first. Outdated versions don't support asynchronous frame generation.

Monster Hunter Wilds is not supported. For those who insist on using dlssg-to-fsr3 anyway, first install REFramework as shown in this video.

I'm having trouble getting this to work in Starfield now, stuck the universal files in and the frame gen option stays grey and inaccessible despite trying dif file name versions too.

I'm gonna try the reg file but bleh, anyone know?

does this work with kingdom come deliverance II does anyone know? I don't own the game so I was wondering if the game supports frame generation.

Yes, it works — but it requires a paid mod.
This mod enables DLSS 4’s upscaling and Frame Generation in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II:

When it comes to Puredark Mods, all of his Builds works fine with Nukems mod but only KCD2 Build doesn't work for me on RTX 3060 12GB. I mean whenever I put the mod files into the executable directory along with the Puredark mod files, game automatically crashes to the desktop. Tried all 01/02/03 Builds and any other OSD Overlays are disabled btw..

    This mod is fantastic!

    3070/5800x3D/32gb

Not one game isnt maxed pathtraced 1440p Dlssp transformer model.

This mod literally saves you from needing to upgrade to a 4000 series for a single feature. Every single commercial, native, and even modded DLSS3 title works. Elden Ring with Puredark, RDR2, Ratchet and Clank, TLOU, Cyberpunk, Alan Wake 2...

    ALL maxed 60+ fps on a 3070.

Do NOT waste your money on new cards before you try this, you WILL find out you are wasting money and you can also **** Nvidia where it hurts.

If you have any questions, ask ME. I have been using this since the day it came out and WILL be here every single day to help you get this working without a canned, cut paste response. I stop here every morning, feel more than free to ask.

      The Witcher 3 Next-Gen — DLSSG-to-FSR3 Mod Installation Guide

According to the mod’s official wiki, The Witcher 3 (Next-Gen version) is one of the best-performing titles using FSR3 Frame Generation. It delivers excellent visual quality and frame pacing — and is even considered the "golden standard" for this mod.

      Source: Official Wiki Page

      ⚠️ Known Issue:
      - If DLDSR is enabled, graphical artifacts may appear and the game could crash during rapid mouse movements.
      - Recommended to disable DLDSR for best results.

      🧩 Compatibility:
      - Reported to work without issues (when DLDSR is off).
      - DLSS Frame Generation quality is among the best out of all supported titles.

      🛠️ Installation Steps (Steam Version):
      1. Navigate to your Witcher 3 installation directory:
      ...\Steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher 3\bin\x64_dx12

      2. Place the following files inside the x64_dx12 folder:

      • version.dll  (or try winhttp.dll or dbghelp.dll if issues arise)
      • dlssg_to_fsr3_amd_is_better.dll

      3. Launch the game using DirectX 12 mode.

✅ Done! Enjoy smoother gameplay with AMD-style FSR3 Frame Generation, even on NVIDIA GPUs.

      Cyberpunk 2077 — DLSSG-to-FSR3 Mod + CET Compatibility Guide

Someone had asked about this issue previously, and I suggested this setup — reposting here for visibility:

For Cyberpunk 2077, when using the DLSSG-to-FSR3 mod together with Cyber Engine Tweaks (CET), the correct DLL to use is:

      winhttp.dll

      Why:
      - version.dll is commonly used, but it conflicts with CET, which also uses that filename.
      - winhttp.dll is fully compatible and allows both the mod and CET to work side by side without issues.

      Installation Steps:
      1. Go to your Cyberpunk 2077 installation directory (where Cyberpunk2077.exe is located).
         Default location:
         ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64

      2. Place the following files there:

      • winhttp.dll
      • dlssg_to_fsr3_amd_is_better.dll

This setup ensures CET works correctly while still letting you benefit from DLSS Frame Generation via the mod.

Absolutely — it’s an amazing (and free!) mod, no doubt.
But I really hope the developer continues its development, as more people are reporting issues with newer game releases.
It deserves long-term support to stay compatible.

I love this "mod." It literally enables DLSS3 functionality on ALL RTX CARDS!

It has more than doubled my fps in some cases like Kingdom Come Deliverance 1 with Puredark DLSS3 enabler on my 3070, Cyberpunk maxed PT 1440p tranformer model too. Everything. I can run everything maxed pathtraced on my 3070 solely because of this mod. Never saw chop in Dragons Dogma 2, ever, because I used this right off the bat. Alan Wake 2? Maxed PT again. Every single thing, this works on every RTX card and it is an absolute must.

If you have ANY RTX card I dare you to not thank me, after you have use this.

Works in ALL official DLSS3 titles, as well as any "enabler" mods like Puredark, which opens up completely new doors to untapped resources that you possess right now, if you have an RTX card!

    Enjoy!

Hi, maybe you already know this, but 4x multi frame generation works in cyberpunk with this mod (laptop 3070ti). I used nvidiainspector to set 4x.

@Nukem do you know why this mod and nvidiainspector supports/sets 4x framegen specifically in Cyberpunk and it works?
I tried Everspace 2 (last very recent update), Deliver us Mars, Doom Eternal, Strafield ... could not FG 4x.

      Hi, sure.

Enable FG in game with this mod. Use version.dll.

Update all 3 nvidia related dlss files to newest version i.e. v310.2.1 with DLSS swapper, or manually in CP2027.

      Dowload nvidiaispector newest version.

In nvidiainspector Go to section 5 - Common section and set all as below:

-DLSS-enable DLL override                          On - DLSS overridden by latest available
-DLSS-forced preset level                             Always use latest

-DLSS-FG Enable DLL override                     On - DLSS-FG overridden by latest available
      -DLSS-FG Multiframegenration count            4x

I get 150-190 FPS on ultra performance and all full settings @1440p. Joy to play TBH.

      Greetings from Amsterdam_\|/_

      Hello!

I tried this with my rtx 3080 card and to my surprise it mostly worked, however I am getting this faint black box artifact when I move my camera. When i disable the frame gen it goes away. Were you experiencing this too?  If so, how did you fix it?

      Thanks

I tried the universal version.dll file for Doom: The Dark Ages. While I could enable frame gen in the menu, when I was actually in game the framerate was even worse than without the frame gen on. Guessing it needs to be updated? Or should I be using a different method? Anyone else get it to work? (Am using a 3070 with the latest drivers installed).

DLSSG-to-FSR3 Installation Guide for Doom: The Dark Ages (Universal Method)

      Requirements:

      • A compatible GPU: GTX 1600, RTX 20, 30, 40, or 50 Series
      • Latest NVIDIA graphics drivers
      • Windows 10/11 with HAGS (Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling) enabled
      • Mod download: DLSSG to FSR3

      Instructions:

      • Choose one of the included generic DLLs: version.dll, winhttp.dll, or dbghelp.dll. Start with version.dll as it's the most commonly compatible.
      • Locate the folder where DOOMTheDarkAges.exe is found. Example path:
        C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DOOMTheDarkAges\
      • Copy both dlssg_to_fsr3_amd_is_better.dll and your chosen DLL (e.g., version.dll) into that folder.
      • Disable any overlays (Steam, GeForce Experience, Xbox Game Bar, etc.) to prevent conflicts.
      • Ensure NVIDIA Reflex is enabled in the in-game graphics settings, if available.
      • Launch the game. A log file named dlssg_to_fsr3.log will be created if everything is working correctly.

      Tips & Notes:

      • If the game crashes or Frame Gen doesn't activate, try a different DLL (e.g., switch from version.dll to winhttp.dll).
      • This mod replaces DLSS Frame Generation with FSR 3 Frame Generation. In the graphics settings, you still need to select “DLSS + Frame Generation”.
      • If issues persist, consider doing a clean driver reinstall using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller).
      • Make sure your G-SYNC monitor is connected via DisplayPort for proper functionality.

LMAO blud actually thought you had issues installing the mod when you clearly stated that you didn't.  That is such obvious GPT slop haha.

For what it's worth, I have the same GPU and had the same exact issue as you.  Was able to enable frame generation in game but it was definitely not functioning correctly.

      Fixed.
Yes, I do use ChatGPT — since I don’t own the game, I rely on it to help with general guidance. I mistakenly assumed it used the Unreal Engine, which led to the wrong file path. But since I provided that incorrect information myself, the mistake is mine, not ChatGPT’s.

withoutdarkness, I always consider every possibility. Many users still follow the old regedit-based method, since it's the most widely documented online — through written guides and YouTube videos — even though it's now obsolete.

OP mentioned using only version.dll, which is indeed from the Universal Method. However, that method is designed to be flexible — and if version.dll doesn't work, you should try the other supported DLL names as well, like winhttp.dll or dbghelp.dll, before assuming incompatibility.

As for your issue: try each of the supported DLL names. If it still doesn’t work, I suggest reporting it directly on the mod’s GitHub page:

Sprinting absolutely tanked the framerate so something is a a bit borked. Using regular FSR and FrameGen works fine however.

It's not the mod issue, game's official DLSS FG doesn't work even on RTX 40 series GPUs for now. Just saw a related report that someone who owns a RTX 4080 Super claims DLSS FG doesn't work so wait for further game update until it's fixed. Btw, FSR interpolation works perfectly smooth but sadly it uses the 3.0 version that only allows you to enable FSR3 Upscaler with its Frame Generation..
