Launch your game and disable vertical sync (V-Sync) in the settings menu. Then toggle frame generation.
This will result in screen tearing. To restore vertical sync and keep frame generation working properly, open Nvidia Control Panel, navigate to "Manage 3D settings", and then enable "Vertical sync" for your specific game.
Old framerate limiters don't work correctly. Check if they explicitly support frame generation first.
If you experience crashes while changing graphics settings in menus and are using an external overlay (RTSS, MSI Afterburner, Special-K, ReShade, etc...) try closing the overlay process first. Outdated versions don't support asynchronous frame generation.
I love this "mod." It literally enables DLSS3 functionality on ALL RTX CARDS!
It has more than doubled my fps in some cases like Kingdom Come Deliverance 1 with Puredark DLSS3 enabler on my 3070, Cyberpunk maxed PT 1440p tranformer model too. Everything. I can run everything maxed pathtraced on my 3070 solely because of this mod. Never saw chop in Dragons Dogma 2, ever, because I used this right off the bat. Alan Wake 2? Maxed PT again. Every single thing, this works on every RTX card and it is an absolute must.
If you have ANY RTX card I dare you to not thank me, after you have use this.
Works in ALL official DLSS3 titles, as well as any "enabler" mods like Puredark, which opens up completely new doors to untapped resources that you possess right now, if you have an RTX card!
Spirit of the North 2 - Frame Generation works well smooth with 0.130 Universal/dll version of the mod, minor HUD Flickerings can be noticable but HUD only can be visible when the fox is damaged when it fall or obtained a scroll paper so the flickerings not so important to be considered at all and it's almost not visible almost all the time. Tested on RTX 3060 12GB, getting average 90-100 FPS on 1080p High Settings + DLSS4 Quality + Medium Global Illumination/Fur Quality + Low Shadows/Material Quality! Game is quite heavy btw, relies on UE5
Steel Seed - Frame Gen also works well with 0.130 Universal/dll version of the mod, no HUD flicker or whatsoever. Running avg 115-120 FPS on 1080p High + DLSS4 Quality, silky smooth on 3060 12GB.
If screen or lighting or something flickering normal when I am active in that window? When I tab out it is fine, when back in my screen like flickers. It is Frame Gen doing it.
That kind of flickering usually isn't caused by native Frame Generation, but rather by this mod's implementation. It tends to happen in certain games depending on how the mod hooks into the rendering pipeline.
A few things you can try to reduce or eliminate the flickering:
Switch the DLL name you're using (winhttp.dll, dbghelp.dll, or version.dll) — some games behave better with one over the others.
Disable in-game overlays (Steam, GeForce Experience, etc.) — overlays often conflict with the mod's injection method.
Ensure HAGS (Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling) is enabled — it's required for Frame Generation to work correctly.
Use exclusive fullscreen mode — flickering tends to be worse in borderless or windowed modes.
Double-check you're using the latest version of the mod — updates may include fixes for these kinds of issues.
Make sure the DLLs are placed correctly in the folder next to the game’s executable, not in a subfolder.
These steps typically solve or at least reduce the flickering. Hope this helps!
It might have been my monitor I play on. Oi vey. My second monitor is not GSYNC compatible and is a different size, but no flickering when in game settings I set it to that monitor.
Thank you! I am using version.dll and have it in the correst place the win64 folder along with win64.shipping.exe and OBSE since I use that to launch, I did make sure to add oblivion and obse exes to Vsync on in nvidia, but to be safe i just turned it on for everything. I have the most recent Universal one. Do i need to delete the log? or do anything special for uninstall? I turned off Steam, Geforce and Game Bar overlays, went full screen and changed to another dll and still flickering. Even added this from a post to the engine ini
Odd because when I turn frame gen off in the game no more flickering. flickering
Should I turn on Variable refresh rate in my comp display settings? Fix for using DLSS + FG after today's Oblivion Remastered patch.
Add these lines to Engine.ini and make the file read-only. [SystemSettings]Altar.UpscalingMethod=1 Altar.DLSS.Quality=4 Altar.DLSS.FG.Enabled=1 Altar.Reflex.Mode=3 DLSS Quality -> 4 = Quality, 5 = Balanced, 6 = Performance, 7 = Ultra Performance Reflex: 1 = On, 3 = On + Boost Engine.ini path: Game Pass - C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\Config\WinGDK Steam - C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\Config\Windows Do not forget to set the file to read-only! This also works when using the DLSS + FSR mod. If you prefer FSR: [SystemSettings]Altar.FSR3.Enabled=1 Altar.FSR3.FI.Enabled=1 Altar.FSR3.Quality=2 Altar.FSR3.Sharpness=25
The mod works by rerouting DLSS Frame Generation through AMD’s FSR 3 frame-gen pipeline, even on GPUs that don’t natively support DLSS-G — like anything below the RTX 40-series. Since those cards lack the Optical Flow Accelerator (OFA) used by native DLSS FG, the interpolated frames are less accurate, which can lead to:
Flickering or shimmering, especially in scenes with fast motion or heavy post-processing
Ghosting or artifacts on edges
Inconsistent latency or responsiveness if NVIDIA Reflex isn't active or compatible
Also, pairing this with a mismatched monitor setup (G-SYNC + non-G-SYNC) or misconfigured refresh/V-Sync settings can make things worse.
Just to confirm — are you using an RTX 40-series GPU, or something older like a 30-series or below? That could help narrow it down.
Album of Flickering Album of Settings I have a RTX 3070TI and one monitor is GSync Compatible. I even turned on Variable Refresh Rate in my computers Graphic settings. The game bugged out earlier when I tried to switch from full screen to Borderless. it kept switching to my curved monitor which is not GSYNC compatible. I couldn't even select the other monitor in the drop down nor change any display settings in the game. I would close the game re open and say it be in borderless change to fullscreen and it would jump to the other even using Win shift Arrow to move it didnt help with re adjusting. Oddly when in the mode in game that doesn't allow you to choose display it is locked into and is locked at like 3440x1440 when my monitor that is GSYCN compat that I have it on and play on is 2560x1440 Oddly my game only shows one monitor and that display it is capped at is what my non gsybc monitor is. When infullscreen game shows my main monitors display.
I sort of fixed it by resetting up Gsync on the monitor and no more flickering BUT bad tearing? A enemy's robe sleeve was stretched out across my screen as we fought. It stopped a few seconds after she was defeated.
If you're still experiencing flickering even after tweaking settings:
Clean Driver Installation (DDU): Sometimes, remnants from older drivers can cause strange behavior like flickering or improper monitor detection. Performing a clean GPU driver installation using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) is strongly recommended. Run it in Safe Mode, uninstall everything NVIDIA-related, then install the latest drivers from NVIDIA’s official website.
Cabling Matters: A bad or low-quality cable can lead to flickering, signal drops, or display instability. If you're using G-SYNC or G-SYNC Compatible, make sure your monitor is connected via a proper DisplayPort cable — G-SYNC does not work over HDMI unless it's HDMI 2.1 VRR-compatible (and even then, results vary). For best stability, use a certified high-quality DisplayPort cable.
These two steps resolve a surprising number of visual artifacts and flickering issues, especially in modded or high-refresh-rate setups.
I shall try the DDU and reinstall drivers from Nvidia and reset up G sync on that monitor. I am curious why my game jumped between monitors when I was changing the settings in game. No more flickering but I'm the settings album I linked that robe was stretched lol hopefully DDU will fix it I am using DisplayPort cable with my monitor, husband made sure to get it. No other mods or plugins should conflict right?
Cable either came with the monitor or was bought, I don't remember got it back in 2022.
I want to thank you so much for your help! I can't believe I fixed the flickering somehow but somethings now stretch across the screen. Oi very.
Did all of that, even got a new cable and still flickering. I think I'll just buy a AMD GPU at some point and remove the mod for now. Even changed the different DLLs should I just get the asi stuff? Game also doesn't show how much VRAM is being taken up properly. Turned it all off and uninstalled the mod and still flickering so it IS my monitor. At least for THIS game. I dont notice it in some others like FF14.
Thanks for the update. Since the flickering still occurs even after uninstalling the mod, changing cables, and trying different DLLs, it sounds like the issue might be with how Oblivion Remastered interacts with your monitor or GPU setup.
At this stage, I suggest reaching out to the official game support or checking community hubs like the Nexus Mods forum or Oblivion Discord to see if others have experienced similar monitor-related problems with this remaster.
Hopefully, they'll be able to help you find a more tailored solution.
Thank you so much for all your help! It is odd I never noticed it before. Going to tinker with settings and stuff. I'll search and ask on discord and what not as you suggested.
Tempest Rising,May I kindly ask the mod author and the users in the comment section how to enable both DLSS upscaling and FSR frame generation together in Tempest Rising using this mod? Thank you all very much.
📘 How to Install DLSSG-to-FSR3 Mod in Tempest Rising (Universal Method)
Tempest Rising is an Unreal Engine game, so it’s compatible with the universal installation method of the DLSSG-to-FSR3 mod.
✅ Prerequisites
Make sure you have:
The latest version of the DLSSG-to-FSR3 mod (Download here)
A supported NVIDIA GPU: - GTX 1600 series - RTX 20, 30, 40, or 50 series
HAGS (Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling) enabled in Windows
The latest NVIDIA GPU drivers installed
📂 Installation Steps
1. Download the Mod Go to the Nexus Mods link above and download the latest Universal Method version.
2. Extract the Files Unzip the archive. You’ll find several DLL options:
version.dll
winhttp.dll
dbghelp.dll
Plus the core file: dlssg_to_fsr3_amd_is_better.dll
3. Locate the Game Folder Go to: ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Tempest Rising\TempestRising\Binaries\Win64\
4. Copy Files Place these two files into the Win64 folder:
dlssg_to_fsr3_amd_is_better.dll
version.dll (or try winhttp.dll or dbghelp.dll if version.dll doesn't work)
5. Launch the Game Start the game normally. If the mod loads, a log file (dlssg_to_fsr3.log) will appear in the same folder.
🛠 Notes & Tips
- Disable overlays (Steam, GeForce, Xbox Game Bar) if the game crashes or doesn't launch. - If you notice ghosting, check Nexus for community fixes or try using DLAA instead of DLSS/FSR2. - You must select DLSS Frame Generation in-game for AMD FG to work. - If one DLL doesn't work, try another one from the provided options.
Does anyone know why plugging in ASI loader would stop this mod from working? Im playing oblivion remastered gamepass version and was using this mod for the better upscaling and frame generation but as soon as started using the ASI loader .dll which goes in the same folder WinGDK, this mod doesn't run anymore. I have to use ASI loader for other mods but not sure why the .dll's would interfere with each other
AMD FidelityFX SDK 1.1.4 was released yesterday. It is claimed that ghosting would be reduced in this new version. Could you kindly update SDK to 1.1.4 for this wonderful mod? Thank you so much!
If you are like me and can't launch Oblivion Remastered after setting this up, here's the fix:
Everyone, and I mean literally everyone said to use the version.dll one. This comment section, Reddit, Google searches, all the people everywhere on the internet.
Try the other ones within the UNIVERSAL version. Instead of version.dll I hail maryed all the other ones until one worked. For me it was winhttp.dll
Great tool winhttp.dll for life 10/10
TLDR; My game wouldn't launch. Used winhttp.dll instead of version.dll. Many frames
Update: after installing an NVIDIA driver winhttp.dll no longer worked for me so I tried version.dll and it worked. Still using it till this day. Not sure what happened there
