I'm getting a "" failed to load the extension "Script Extender Installer" from "Github.com", Please check the notifications"" Message when I load up Vortex.
Hard to say, don't have much info to go on. There are many things that could have gone wrong, be it vortex configuration, or your misunderstanding something. It would be easier if you joined the Subnautica modding discord server, where we (or someone else available if I'm not) can have a back and forth chat to figure out the issue and help you resolve it.
Well I don't know what the Script Extender Installer extension is or what it's used for (sounds like something used with Bethesda games most likely), but it's probably an issue with Vortex itself, or a temporary GitHub problem.
Nothing to do with this extension, which doesn't touch that.
Not every bug you have in Vortex while using this extension will be because of this extension. It's like blaming a mod for something that happens in a game, when the mod didn't cause it, it's just part of the game. Basically same thing here.
My extension just tells Vortex how to install mods for Subnautica. No part of that has anything to do with this "Script Extender Installer extension," or how to load it from GitHub.
And that error shouldn't prevent any of your Subnautica mods from working. So if you're having issues with Subnautica mods, it's a red herring, coincidental, completely unrelated.
Don't think its a bug or not but I cannot see Subnautica in the vortex games list before and after installing this mod. I tried this on multiple pc's with different accounts. Any help is appreciated.
I also cannot see Subnautica Below Zero which I also own. I used to play Subnautica and was able to mod it last year (Vortex has been updated since). I also noticed that on another PC which has Vanilla Vortex with only skyrim mods does have your extension by default but Subnautica does not show up. The 3rd computer was the same but I decided to install your mod and it still doesn't show up. I don't use discord but I will see about setting it up. I try to keep my pc's clean from any unnecessary apps.
Good news. Figured it out. It was a vortex issue and I have the latest one which I find odd. The default extension that comes with Vortex is 2.0.0. When I installed your mod, it didn't update it and was just sitting in the download folder. Even when I clicked install, it didn't do anything. I ended up unzipping your version of 3.3.3 into this location %AppData%\Vortex\plugins under a folder I renamed to Vortex Extension Update Subnautica Support 3-3-3. I did this while Vortex was closed. I launched vortex and boom, I found Subnautica under games I can manage. I'm hoping I can one click install a working collection. Thank you for your time and Mod. I will be endorsing this mod Extension!
Very interesting, I am seeing this issue too on my end. It seems to have begun with the latest version I uploaded, version 3.3.3. I'm not sure why, but it seems to have caused an issue with Vortex somehow, to the point that it is now not even showing the extension in the "Find more" search box in the Extensions tab.
Luckily, it is still possible to install it via manual download and dropping it in the "Drop File(s)" box at the bottom of the Extensions tab, but it's rather tedious to have to do this.
I'm reaching out to the Vortex staff to see if they can help me diagnose the issue and get it fixed.
I installed legacy but now my nexusmod is not loaded because i installed your latest version of it. how can i downgrade this one? i have i believe 1,44 version of your now
Try installing version 2.2.2. It reverts the changes made in 2.2 and 2.2.1. The next version after this will add true support for Subnautica's Living Large update and BepInEx mods, hopefully without the bugs this time.
Just wanting to post an update to this - this extension has now supported the legacy branch successfully since v3 of the extension which was released on Jan 13th. Users having issues with the legacy branch on the latest version of this extension should make a new post/bug report detailing their issue, rather than downgrading the extension.
This was due to a Subnautica update which broke QModManager - has nothing to do with this extension. This issue with QModManager has long since been resolved.
Here's a link to a third-party page which is keeping track of which mods have been updated to work with 2.0.
You can also sort mods on Nexus by the date of their last update (here's a link). If they've been updated since Dec 14th 2022, they're likely to be compatible with the 2.0 update - but you should check the mod page to make sure it actually specifies this, because some of them might just be updating for the legacy branch.
If it doesn't mention installing BepInEx anywhere in the page, it's probably not ready for 2.0 yet.

They're hoping to have a fix out within the hour, but if not it should be tomorrow.
