About this mod

The aim of this project is to remaster every texture in the game by upscaling it at least 4x times with the help of various ai upscaling tools and manual editing. My main goal is to make this remaster feel as authentic as possible so I'm using only the vanilla textures and take a lot of care to preserve their original art style.

WHAT'S THIS?

The aim of this project is to remaster every texture in the game by upscaling it at least 4x times with the help of various ai upscaling  tools and manual editing. My main goal is to make this remaster feel as authentic as possible so I'm using only the vanilla textures and take a lot of care to preserve their original art style. This demo includes textures for James, the starting restroom and Toluca Lake observation deck.

I strongly advise you to use Enhanced Edition of the game with this mod. I haven't tested it with another versions  but it probably might work with any version supporting directx 9 (via  wrappers like dgVoodoo2).

INSTALLATION:

  • Extract .zip file contents into the game installation folder (the same directory as your sh2pc.exe)
  • Download Texmod from here.
  • Follow the instructions provided in the Readme.txt file and on the images you find in the .zip file or here in the media section (titled TexMod guide)
  • Enjoy!

UNINSTALLATION:

Simply delete packages folder and texmod.exe from the game installation folder.



TIPS & TRIVIA:

  • There will be slowdown every time you launch the game as texmod loads new textures and it takes some time. 
  • There is a rare bug with missing geometry when using new textures. For the moment i haven't figured out what causes it.
