I'm the first "that guy" but this doesn't work for me. Files are where they should be (...sh2\SHProto\Content\Paks\~mods) but I don't see anything in-game. Maybe it's my Engine.ini edits perhaps but AFAIK I haven't disabled anything like "r.postprocessing.disablematerials"...
Okay thanks, that's probably it then! edit: it won't pop up actually. Anyways, I'm going to wait and see then. It's not that critical, just strange. The files have been loaded in too because I can't delete them when the game is running, i.e. they are locked.
Because The Red Cross organization discourages it from being used in any other form apart from the humanitarian effort to prevent it from becoming an icon with lesser meaning, and also because the icon is protected under the Geneva Convention.

I hear you. However it's important to point out that the cross is an ancient symbol which cannot be copyrighted. Nobody owns rights to it. The Geneva Convention merely aims to protect it, that's about it. Nobody could ever be sued for using it. And the fact anyone wants to claim this very ancient symbol (merely painted in red), telling others they shouldn't use it, is evil and will not be respected by me. You can't just claim an ancient symbol that originally had a totally different meaning and then tell others don't use it. Straight up "Lucifer Syndrome" aka pride and ego. The video game industry "could" use it if they wanted to and nobody could ever sue them, they merely play along with the demands of the Geneva Convention. It's not copyright protected and can never be. Heck, it's even found in mathematics in the plus symbol. They merely painted it red and tell others you are not allowed to paint it red, lol. It's just silly if you ask me but who cares haha.
Yes, it might sound silly but the red cross does truly remarkable work for people worldwide. Moreover, the article seems to be an appeal to game makers worded rather politely. I think giving up the symbol should not be an issue if it means so much to them. Just my opinion.
Yeah... but like I said, The Red Cross just discourages people from using it outside the humanitarian context. Nobody can sue somebody over this, of course. But... since we are living in a rather fragile world with a lot of conflict, it is a good idea not to make this symbol become something that has a lesser meaning than a humanitarian effort.
The Red Cross only discourages the use of, well, the Red Cross symbol. But the one in the game is a transparent cross with a red background, so that is okay.
I don't personally even understand how it would be a bad thing to be associated with health, healthkits, health indicators etc. in games, as it would surely just moreso solidify it's meaning towards health related things.
If they're so worried their humanitarian effort loses a little bit of "fame" or shares the spotlight of said red cross icon with something - ANYTHING, I'm not sure how pure their motivations for said humanitarian efforts are and how much they are to specifically bolster their own reputation.
This world has a weird passion for overcomplicating every matter these days.
Since nobody seems to know the reasoning, I'll provide :
The Geneva convention is trying to prevent people from using the red cross because it lessens the impact of what it means, and it can make you learn the wrong thing about the symbol itself; the Red Cross means "disaster relief and wartime aid", NOT health. Health international symbol is the Caduceus.
Do note that the Geneva Convention does not make it illegal (it doesn't really have the power to) but some countries do have a law that prevents you from misusing the red cross as a symbol, because it can become confusing and lessens its impact when you see it later; for example, in the US, using the red cross is a violation of 18 U.S.C. §706. You should note that it does not say that use of the trademark must be confusing to be illegal. It's very clear that any use is illegal.
Thank you and the lord in heaven above for this mod!! I absolutely DESPISE red borders for low health in video games! I don't need an annoying ass red vignette that reduces my visibility! It stays on the screen INDEFINITELY unless you heal up! It's like yes, I get it, now STFU and let me see the game FFS!! The amount of hand holding bullshit in video games nowadays is too much, man. Drives me f*#@ing nuts!
Anyway, that was my vent/rant. Thanks again for the mod! lol
You ever played any Legend of Zelda games? When you low on health the game plays a constant loud beeping alarm sound until you heal up, that's the most annoying low health indicator ever in any video game.
I love this mod but I might be weird. I was wondering if a version with the red health border could be made as well as the classic indicator together. Overall great mod and I love it!
Excellent Mod. That red border is extremely distracting. I was going to turn the health indicator off all together before seeing this mod. It's also gives you more of an OG feel, so win-win.

It was turned on at some point when I was testing this mod but then I turned it back off.
Sorry for the trouble.
idk why the devs didn't include this
Yes, I'm being serious here.
