This replaces the default Dutch, French and Spanish flags with historically accurate versions for the period. Check out more mods and discussion at the www.hookedonpirates.com forums.
The England flag has had the St. George's Cross thinned out a bit from the fat version in the original. For the Dutch, the Dutch West India Company flag and the Prince's Flag are used, and for the Spanish, the Cross of Burgundy. French ships use a merchant flag from the era.
Sail emblems now reflect contempory coats of arms of the time.
Place the folders in your equivalent to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Pirates!
From the custom folder, back up the default flag and sails somewhere first.
If you want to switch which flags are used by the AI, it's "flag_dut", "flag_fre", "flag_eng," and "flag_spa"
