About this mod

Removes the film grain effect that's present during gameplay

Changelogs
Like a lot of games, Shadows of the Damned has a constantly active film grain effect. Unfortunately, there isn't an option in the menu or ini files to turn it off. The grain effect is actually a texture that is loaded on top of the gameplay screen.

This mod replaces the texture with a transparent one, removing the grain effect entirely.

The change doesn't show up in pictures since it's kind of a moving grain. It should be an obvious change once loaded in, however.

Prerequisites
  • These will only work if you've extracted the data.vfs file found in the fishgame folder inside the game's install directory. You can find the script needed to extract the files on GitHub. You'll need to have Python installed for it to work. I'm assuming you've already gone through this process for any of my mods.
  • Requires TFC Installer 2.4.3.0 or higher. Please note that you will need to follow the guide here in order to modify your game.

Installation (Thanks Wastelander)
  • Download the zip file included here
  • Extract the zip somewhere. I just put it in the TFC Installer folder
  • Open TFC Installer
  • Set your game folder, ex: C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Shadows of the Damned\. This can obviously vary depending on where you've installed your game.
  • Set your mod folder: This will be the MyMod folder you extracted in step 2 above. It should contain GameProfile.xml.
  • Click Update Shadows of the Damned.
