🪙 The Hoardkeeper’s Boon

"The Hoardkeeper watches over all rewards. With their favor, every chest brims and every foe falls with fuller pockets."

🎯 Overview
Meraxi the Coinmother is no simple goddess of wealth—she is avarice incarnate, a sentient relic-spirit that once slithered through the vaults of empires and slept beneath thrones of forgotten kings. Some say she was born in the first transaction, when two mortals traded without trust. Others claim she was forged in the divine mint of Zaros’ treasury, exiled for growing sentient and greedy. Whatever her origin, Meraxi is drawn to the clink of coin like vultures to blood.

Her shrines are hidden, often disguised as ordinary lockboxes, abandoned safes, or mimic chests. A clever adventurer who offers a coin, a bauble, or even a whispered secret to these places may earn a whisper of her presence—though what she gives always comes at a price.

To invoke The Hoardkeeper’s Boon is to catch Meraxi’s attention. She fattens coin purses, loads the limbs of slain beasts with rarities, and coaxes extra treasure from places that should’ve long since run dry. Gold becomes suspiciously plentiful, gems unnaturally common, and every loot roll dances on the edge of miraculous. But always—always—there’s a sense that Meraxi is watching, tallying debts in ledgers only she understands.

Though she’s worshipped by rogues, merchant guilds, and at least one cult of treasure hunters who wear blindfolds “to see only value,” Meraxi has no formal clergy. She favors the bold and acquisitive, those who believe that the world is a hoard waiting to be cracked open.

And yet... among the whispers are warnings. Meraxi remembers every gift she grants. A debt unpaid might one day come due—in rusted locks, jammed coin purses, or chests that forever vanish before your eyes.

The Hoardkeeper’s Boon is wealth incarnate, opportunity in excess. But beware: to hold her gaze too long is to wonder if your riches are truly yours... or simply borrowed.

🔍 How It Works (Simplified)
Loot in Dragonwilds uses a Roll Table system—a kind of magical fishbowl full of goodies. Here's what this mod changes:

  • 🎲 Probability → 100%:
Every item on a loot table now has an equal chance of being picked. This doesn’t guarantee every item will drop, but no item is unfairly weighted out anymore.
  • 🔁 Iteration Count Multiplied:
Controls how many times the game pulls from the table. If it used to roll 2–4 times, the x2 version now rolls 4–8. More rolls = more chances.
  • 📦 Result Quantity Multiplied:
After all the pulls, the reward count is multiplied again. So if you got 2 of something before, now you might get 4, 10, or even more depending on the version.

⚙️ Three Modular Versions Available
(Only install one at a time. The Sylvan bestows his gifts in measure.)

🟦 Full Cache
"A gentle touch to enhance the rewards without overwhelming the senses."
  • Multiplies the table iterations and quantity values by ×2.

🟩 Overflowing Hoard
"For the lucky few who dare to live large and feast upon an abundant bounty."
  • Multiplies the table iterations and quantity values by ×5.

🟨 Treasure Trove
"For those who embrace chaos and revel in the madness of endless riches."
  • Multiplies the table iterations and quantity values by ×10.

⚠️ Important Notes:
  • This affects any loot that uses roll tables, notably loot from Enemies and Chests.
  • This does not guarantee specific items—just improves overall quantity and fairness.
  • Chests will only reflect the new loot multiplier after they’ve been opened at least once and then reset, unless you start a new world with the mod already installed.

🌐 MULTIPLAYER NOTICE:
Mods in Dragonwilds are host-authoritative, meaning:

  • If the host has modded files or is running LUA mods, players who connect to their world will benefit from those mods.
  • If the host is unmodded, then your client-side mods will not function properly and may not apply at all.
  • Do not grief other players by trying to exploit mod behavior in unmodded games — that makes you a jerk, and nobody likes a jerk. Play nice.
