🎒 The Packmaster

"The Packmaster walks beside those who carry the world on their backs. With his blessing, your burdens become boons."

🎯 Overview
Grannok the Burden-Bearer is a legend shared in hushed tones around caravan fires and among ironmen with inventories stretched to breaking. Said to be a giant of quiet strength, Grannok never speaks, only walks—always forward, always carrying. His silhouette has been seen cresting dunes, trudging through snowfields, and even crossing storm-choked oceans on foot, bearing packs stacked like towers and sacks bulging with the weight of a hundred lifetimes.

Some say he was once a mortal porter cursed to carry the burden of a dying god. Others claim he is the manifestation of resolve itself, summoned into being by every adventurer who has ever muttered, “I can carry just one more.”

Grannok is not a god of wealth, nor a guardian of comfort. He is the spirit of endurance, of stubborn persistence against logistics and limitation. He doesn’t remove your burdens—he teaches you how to carry them.

To invoke The Packmaster is to gain a glimpse of Grannok’s might. Item stacks swell beyond their norms, inventory weight feels like feathers, and even the most overloaded character moves with unyielding determination. It’s said that those truly favored by him feel his invisible grip stabilize their packs, shifting weight with impossible precision—though they’ll never see him, only feel a brief warmth at their shoulders, like a friend quietly lifting a burden for just a moment.

Worship of Grannok is informal—no temples, no prayers—just nods of respect when gear fits where it shouldn’t, or when one’s inventory miraculously holds exactly enough. He is honored in action: a pack organized perfectly, a load carried alone without complaint.

But beware: those who hoard selfishly may find their items mysteriously scattered. Grannok carries burdens—but not greed.

The Packmaster’s Boon is not merely about inventory—it is a tribute to the journey, to the spirit of pushing onward, not in spite of weight, but because of it.

🌐 MULTIPLAYER NOTICE:
Mods in Dragonwilds are host-authoritative, meaning:
  • If the host has modded files or is running LUA mods, players who connect to their world will benefit from those mods.
  • If the host is unmodded, then your client-side mods will not function properly and may not apply at all.
  • Do not grief other players by trying to exploit mod behavior in unmodded games — that makes you a jerk, and nobody likes a jerk. Play nice.

COMPATIBILITY:
This mod includes a Compatibility File in the Miscellaneous section, listing all modified asset paths.
  • If another mod changes the same assets, a conflict may occur.
  • When conflicts happen, the mod whose files (.pak, .utoc, .ucas) load last alphabetically will apply.
  • To resolve conflicts, rename mod files to adjust load priority.
  • Lua-based mods that affect the same features may override this mod, as Lua scripts run after all IoStore content loads.
