Site launch
Fallout 3 Nexus is a site that runs in parallel to TESNexus in objectives, technology and design with one obvious difference; Fallout 3 Nexus is for, you guessed it, Fallout 3. As with TESNexus, the goal of FO3Nexus is not to compete and step on the toes of the excellent fan-run content-driven sites already within the community. Instead the Nexus sites have always been designed to be community driven sites that help to promote the sharing of files (namely modifications), resources, images, information and the idea of a community. In essence, I provide the tools to help users share their work with other members of the community as efficiently and simply as possible.
If you are new to both FO3Nexus and TESNexus I encourage you to take a look around the site and join in the file database, image share section or the forums. You'll find all the sections are relatively bland and empty at the moment but hopefully given time they'll soon fill up. While Bethesda are not releasing an SDK with Fallout 3 there's still a little modding opportunity and there are files that users can still share with one another. If becoming a budding mod author isn't your sort of thing then why not share your screenshots from Fallout 3 with other users in the Image Share section? It's quick and simple and it invited a great group of budding screenshotters on TESNexus to show off some of their best flicks from Oblivion. Why not do it for Fallout 3? Lastly if you're looking to talk about Fallout 3 with other fans of the game then why not head over to our new Fallout 3 forum to discuss the game, talk about modding Fallout 3 or simply kick your feet up with some of the forum regulars talking about anything you like?
FO3Nexus shares the same forum and membership database as TESNexus, centralised at The Nexus Forums. This means that if you're registered at TESNexus then you're registered here too; no need to register a new account, simply login with your current username and password!
FO3Nexus is a direct port of both the TESNexus design and code. This was a conscious decision by myself to make managing both sites that much easier. It also reduces the added effort of working on a whole new design for the site when the aesthetic appeal of the site has always taken a back-burner against the actual functionality of the site. If it's not broke, don't fix it! If you think this site could be improved then please don't hesitate to share your constructive ideas in the feedback forum or via the contact form available on the site.
Stay tuned to FO3Nexus for updates on the construction set for Fallout 3 as well as any important community information related to modding that I think might be relevent. There's plenty of new features in the offing for FO3Nexus as we're forced to play the waiting game for an SDK for Fallout 3. Hopefully Bethesda won't keep us waiting (and in the dark) for too long.
Please, enjoy the site.
