0- I'm not a native english speaker, so forgive any grammatical errors that may be present in this description.
1- I'm not the author of these tables, credit goes to the original authors, NDCK for the v1.0.7 and MarianaRoses for the v1.3.0.
2- Work on these tables has long since been discontinued, hence they're only partially functional.
3- They're very buggy, expecially the 1.0.7 one, so use at your own discretion. I can't and won't be held responsible for any damage they make cause to game files.
4- AVOID USING THEM FOR ANY ONLINE-RELATED STUFF, like the R.1 and R.2 stages. Since there are online leaderboards that's basically online cheating. Use them offline.
5- I'm not capable at all of working on tables or editing in general, so support for making them work will be allmost nonexistent, aside for the bare minimum.
6- If the original authors or any good soul that has the know how is willing to work on them to fix/update them to work properly with the latest version of the game (currently 2.0.3) feel free to do so, but please do post them to be available for everyone.
Thanks to the help of a user over on the OCT's server on Discord and searching over a russian website I've recovered two cheat tables for the game R-Type Final 2, I'm uploading them here so they won't be lost forever.
Perhaps not many know that the original websites that hosted them (mainly Fearlesrevolution, but also OCT.org that got taken over) changed their link with fake ones that redirect to Modengine (paywalled trainer injector with little to no utility), so they're basically almost impossible to find anywhere else. The current Open Cheat Tables (.com is the correct one atm) doesn't have them, I'll see if I manage to upload them over there too in the near future.
THESE TABLES NEED CHEAT ENGINE TO BE USED, you'll need to download and install it before using them. Check online for guides on how to use Cheat Engine if needed, but using these tables is relatively easy. (don't worry about the cheat-e-coins counter on the current versions of CE, they wanted to make a joke... for April...I hope)
When selecting which process to open to associate either of these tables pay mind to the name, in case more than one process whose name contains "R-TYPEFINAL2" appears choose the one with the shorter name (not the "winshipping" one).
Some of the scripts have associated hotkeys, they can be changed to suit your needs by right clicking on them and editing/creating/deleting in the menù that opens (it accepts both keyboard and controller inputs, do not save the modified table if unsure.). Otherwise just tick the box on the left to activate or deactivate them.
Since these tables are old many scripts don't work anymore, while some working ones haven't been done correctly and may cause bugs, so here's some details:
v1.0.7
- do not run it before having run the game "as is" for the first time (just for safety)
- the working ones are: "1hit kill", "speed hack/half speed" and "experimental invincibility"
- they have a vocal confirmation associated, you'll hear a voice confirming their activation/deactivation. If it says only "name of the script - DEACTIVATED" and never "name of the script - ACTIVATED" it means that that particular script isn't working.
- while 1-hit kill and speed hack are relatively easy and safe to use PAY PARTICULAR CAUTION when using the invincibility script, it removes collision but also blocks other stuff, like event triggers (it may also break some dlcs, like making dlc stages not appear at all for the epic version, but it's unconfirmed), so it may be wise to change its hot key to a keyboard button or controller button you can access quickly to deactivate it (like the left trigger or select)
v1.3.0
- it's the easier and safer one to use but only two/three scripts work, mainly the "infinite life" and the "full beam charge"
- supposedly the "full dose" script should also work, even though visually it makes the dose bar go to either full or empty the special weapon will be instantly and constantly charged, but testing it didn't seem to work for me.
Both tables have brief description for their scripts, the v1.3.0 being the easier one to understand. I've tested these tables only for the EGS version, but they should also work for the steam one.
As for future plans, if I manage to find someone to edit them I'll upload any relevant updates, in the mean time anybody willing to improve/update them is welcome to try.
Needles to say, I won't upload updated tables from unknown/untrusted sources, so whoever works on them is also encouraged to make directly a new post here on nexus to upload their own version.
