About this mod

Textures improved with A.I usable with Special K.

Permissions and credits
This is pretty much an in-game implementation of the A.I upscaled resources I posted here earlier. But I managed to import them to the game with Special K.

I personally don't see a huge difference in normal gameplay, but with going close up, I definitely notice less pixilation with the textures. I only have a 1080p monitor so that's the reason, there may be a significant difference in 2k and 4k resolutions.

The only downside is that the roughness maps appear to be changed slightly in how the game handles lightning, so Lara looks less wet when she's supposed to have the dirt textures applied. In Blender, I didn't even notice much of a difference as the game uses some other technique to make the wet areas look wetter, so I need to mess around with the textures and then go back to the game to see what would look appropriate, though it'll take quite some time so I don't know if I'll do that immediately. I suppose that could be fixed too if the shaders could be adjusted, but it's not possible at the moment. I suppose you can go around this issue for now is if you just disable the new roughness maps only.

Right now I only changed what's visible on the Syrian tank top outfit and only Lara's skin textures. There's quite a ton of textures so I don't know if I'll be doing everything else. I also added custom eye textures from my Tomb Raider 2013 mod and also the Shadow of the Tomb Raider eyebrows with improved textures.

If you want to change other textures personally, just install the A.I model from my texture resource thread, then run it twice on the textures you'll be changing. Once on the base texture, then again on the texture you improved. It'll remove even further some artifacts once you run it a second time.

How to use:

Latest version of Special K has broken coloring with this game, so you need to install an earlier version of the software locally to the game. You can still use the global app to launch the game and it'll automatically detect you have a local installation.

Download version v22.4.9.1 from here and then put the 64-bit version to the game files. Then rename it to d3d11.dll.

Then, put the textures in "L:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Rise of the Tomb Raider\SK_Res\inject\textures" or in other words, the game file path.
