1. Description:
Risen Improvements Pack fixes some of the gameplay design issues of Risen in order to make it a more enjoyable experience.
The next-gen version also includes some fixes from Unofficial Patch 1.3, those that do not depend on scripts (which are broken on the 2023 version).

2. Installation:
a) Next-Gen
- Simply copy the 'data' folder into your Risen main folder.
- You can also copy the 'data' folder inside the optional folder(s) for those optional changes to apply.
- If there is a prompt for file overwrite, do not accept it! Simply rename the extension(.p0x) of the conflicting file(of this mod) to the next number until you no longer get the overwrite prompt.
Note: If your game is not in English, then do not copy the files compiled\strings.p00 and compiled\speech_english.p00 to avoid bugs.

b) Old-Gen
- Copy contents of Risen UP 1.3 to Risen main folder if you don't have it already.
- Install RMDS (if you don't already have it).
- Copy FanMods folder inside RMDS main folder.
- Run RMod-Starter and select your Risen.exe location.
- Check 'Risen Improvements Pack' from the mod list and press 'Integrate mods'.

3. Changes:
- Player forward movement speed was increased by 5%, making travelling the island less tedious.
- Added The Don's sword, Stonesplitter Axe, War Spear and War Crossbow to the game world, in appropriate places.
- Maces have been slightly tweaked to better differentiate them from swords with similar stats.
- Saber damage and requirements have been slightly increased to make it a viable option for DEX builds in the first chapter.
- Evil Bastard gives +1 Sword Combat and requires 35 STR + 25 DEX, making it viable for characters who invested in both STR and DEX early on.
- Sharp Bastard Sword STR requirement was slightly reduced so it's less difficult to craft and use early on.
- Sharp Obsidian Sword(1H) had its damage and requirements increased to make it more relevant for Chapter 3.
- Stormwind and Souldrinker now give +1 Sword Combat, so they feel more like unique swords.
- Two-Handed swords from Chapter 4 had their damage increased to feel more like end game weapons, though axes are still stronger.
- Axes are 25% longer, making them look more menacing, but also improving their reach to be similar with two-handed swords.
- Sledgehammer damage was slightly buffed to be more in line with the general power growth of axes.
- Spear, War Spear and Titan Staff now require DEX to be wielded, making a DEX Staff Fighter build possible.
- Double Bladed Staff damage and requirements have been increased to make it more appropriate for Chapter 3.
- Druid Staff now also increases max mana, making keeping it worth considering for mages.
- Bows deal more damage across the board, making them less dependent on having very high DEX to be good.
- Officer's Coat and all helmets give slightly more protection so they feel more impactful.
- A Leather Helmet was added to the swamp area so it can actually see some usage early on.
- Most of the weaker jewelry items were buffed to be more useful overall.
- A Large Diamond has been added to the game world. This one can be found from Chapter 2 to be crafted into a Shield Amulet.
- Novice's Stew now requires 2x Raw Chicken instead of 2x Raw meat, giving chicken meat a use for later on. It also requires Water instead of Wine, which makes more sense.
- Fried Herring restores 10 mana instead of 5, making it worth cooking for mages early on.
- Meat-stuffed Bread gives +4 Max HP instead of 2, keeping a 2x ratio to the +2 Max MP from Plaice Melt similar to the potions.
- Mana potions were toned down to give a less ridiculous 50-75-100 mana, which is plenty enough for any build.
- Wanderlust now gives 100xp instead of 10xp. Traveller's potion now gives 1000xp instead of 100xp, making it feel worth crafting.
- 3 Wanderlust were added to empty places in the world, making it possible to craft 9(+1 looted) Traveller's Potions for a total of 10k xp.
- Scroll of Speed now requires 3x Greenleaf instead of Wanderlust to be crafted, giving Greenleaf a crafting use.
- Inferno spell damage was increased to feel more like an end game spell. Now it can kill weaker lizardmen and badly injure the stronger ones.
- [Optional] Magic Bullet Crystal costs 4 mana to use instead of 5, bringing its cost per kill closer to the other crystals.
- Craig's hut is now private and his chest is locked, same as the other huts in the Don's Camp.
- [Next-Gen] All of the non-script fixes from Unofficial Patch 1.3 are included for Next-Gen version (custom script files no longer work on 2023 version).
