The main file simply extends the range of most knives to attack 1.5x to 4x further than normal.
-The optional file also changes the critical hit rate of knife attacks from 5 (base) to a range of 8 to 14. The choice is yours to make.
The only knives left alone are knives with special animations, such as Mercenary mode Krauser's unique knife fighting style - however the story mode fighting knife does benefit from increased reach.
Be advised, since the Mercenaries update, the first knife (combat knife) seems to be less affected by edits than the other knives. If you feel the combat knife is still too short, I added an option that will boost the combat knife range a great deal. The other knives work well, and I will continue experimenting with the combat knife when I am able.
Created to be compatible / combined with knife replacer mods that use larger models, or used standalone by those who prefer more melee-focused styles while having enough reach to react to attacks.
