Until somone makes a SMG ammo weapon case, this will have to do.

With the basic weapon case, you will get handgun ammo even without handguns in the inventory. You can use this to craft SMG ammo.

Balanced around TMP and LE5 and not the Chicago Typewriter for a good base game experience.




~Verbose rant about how I balanced this mod~
(so it feels fair to use this mod)


The base game's balance behind gunpowder for pistol and smg seems to be 2 ammo and 5 ammo per gunpowder.

Accounting the inaccuracy of the TMP and the low damage of LE5, the ratio will now be changed to 2:6.

Damage per gunpowder is actually pretty much similar between most pistols and SMGs, excluding the punisher, chicago typewriter, and sentinel 9. I omit these weapons in comparisons because they are bonus weapons and punisher just sucks in latter half of pro mode.

Thus with this ratio of 1:3, 15 HG ammo can become 45 SMG ammo with 1 gunpowder.

Of course, it's not a perfect exchange since it still consumes 1 additional gunpowder, but I think it's fair given the advantages of using a SMG.

I tested it multiple times from the beginning , starting with the same starter loadout but TMP instead of SG09, and had no problem clearing the first few chapters on professional. I haven't beaten the game with it yet, but it should be no problem. Each time, I didn't end up with lots of ammo, but never ran completely out either. There were times where I had to craft pistol ammo though.

Balanced around TMP and LE5, and not the Chicago Typewriter.



Bonus ammo craft removed

The craftable bonus ammo for SMG ammo is removed, unless you have SMG ammo charm. The game has a chance to give you bonus ammo for any ammo type if you are running low. The reason is due to simply converting the looted HG ammo to SMG ammo. If the craftable bonus is enabled, you would be double dipping craftable bonuses from crafting HG ammo and SMG. However, HG ammo craftable bonus is untouched, so these HG bonus ammo can be made into SMG ammo. Thus, the base game mechanic is preserved in the intended way. You could double dip by equipping HG bonus charm and SMG bonus charm, but that is up to you. This is in the same ethics zone as save load scumming to get bonus crafting procs.

As for the ratios, I tried 10 HG to 30 SMG, but it was annoying to craft it so often, and 20 HG to 60 SMG wasn't as good since there were moments where I was low on ammo and waited until I got 20 HG ammo. 15 seems the best fit.
