Life in Hell by Luis Webber for RE4 UHD PORTED to VR!

This is a very similar mod to Rising of Evil enemy wise but less confusing progression wise, and is also easier!

Soundtrack, Enemy and Gun Firing Sounds are all reused from Rising (BUT with some of the unique to LIH ones also ported on top!)

INCLUDES a New Fog Mod that changes the original fog in subtle ways to match more the Original GameCube colors for every stages and removes the bad RE4 VR rim effect throughout the game too!

And MANY NEW Skins included to improve the VR Version's visuals and/or to SPICE things up!

RE4 VR MOD PACK (If you want to customize Mods inside OBBs)

Installation Process:
All you have to do is replace the MAIN OBB file inside your Quest!

1. Plug your Quest to your PC (allow the access of files inside the Quest once plugged to PC, through the big popup or under notifications)

2. Go to the device files (Internal Shared Storage), then "Android", then "OBB", then "com.Armature.VR4", and replace the OBB there!

You're done, enjoy and good luck!

This process might be possible without dev mode, or without a PC if you use some file managers directly on Quest or something but I am not sure about either. I've always had dev mode on and never used those kinda file manager apps on my Quests.

If the game doesn't open after transferring the OBB, you might need to restart the headset, or reopen the game multiple times, or update the Quest Firmware (Some Firmware versions can cause this issue more often than others)

Some things to note about Life in Hell for VR (just like with Rising):

1. No more Cannon lever in the Castle Catapults, just walk through the big gates, it will have no collisions

2. After in the Sword Puzzle room, just place the Swords in their original ''wrong'' spots before their correct spots to solve the puzzle

3. There's triggers to go through the gates in playable Ashley's first room. Useful for checkpointing and respawning lanterns, and because levers are gone

4. You do not go back to Ashley's section as Leon. You get the last Ornament piece for free in Luis death room

5. Door to the Bulldozer ride doesn't need the Lever Puzzle to be unlocked anymore. Just use the door to access the Bulldozer ride without worrying about doing the Puzzle!

Another thing is, there is no more largest Inventory in the Merchant shop before the Valley.

You will have to do more item management, sell more grenades/heals etc and have less weapons early on!

Please also keep a gun ready & gripped in your hand before the elevator and its cutscene (where Leon says "somethings not right" to the Saddler boss fight! Keep it in your hand while the game is loading too.

Some advices for Life in Hell (similar to Rising too):

  • DO NOT let enemies fall to their deaths outside of playable areas! Enemies will usually drop KEY items NEEDED to progress! So kill every enemies you can and make sure none ever fall out of bounds!
  • Save your Rifle ammo for Novistadors, and absolutely always headshot the Novistadors with the rifle, feel free to bait them into letting you doing a kick so you can get easy headshots on them

  • Gigantes with extra accessories on them usually have way, way more health and should absolutely be hit with a direct RPG shot

  • Once you get the Magnum, you need to save as much Magnum ammo as possible and always line up shots between mutliple stronger enemies

  • Human Saddler from Separate Ways is sadly invisible and cannot be killed, he only appears 2 times throughout the mod. His job is the same, to be an annoyance to you, just do the simple triggers QTEs to avoid most of his attacks and don't try to kill him!

  • Always save whenever you get the chance to and save on different slots!

  • Use your TMP or other methods to aggro potential enemies in new rooms before entering them, you never know what might be waiting behind the next door!

  • It's also okay to skip some enemies here and there, if you dont think they drop anything useful or aren't worth your time for whatever reason it might be!

  • The Bolt Action Rifle is one weapon I never sold in my VR playthrough, it's not very big it does a lot of damage once fully upgraded, you do not need the Semi-Auto Rifle later on

I am still extremely happy to have figured out how to mod this version of RE4, and I hope you guys enjoy the mods as much as I do in VR!

Have fun and good luck!
