.Playable Ashley's second stage has been restored to the mod and is now returnable to as Leon after you finish playing as Ashley! That section is where you get the Serpent Ornament now, with the original added LIH enemies inside the area (that drop the Puzzle Stone Tablet and the Serpent Ornament piece)
.Some enemies have been removed from the Spider Saddler fight to prevent a crash that can happen when loading into the boss fight without a gun held in your hand
More details: (if you've reached the second half of the Island the reduced enemies won't work for you, so please hold any guns in your hand when loading into the Saddler fight!)
.Middle Ornament piece placed back inside its original chest in the second area of the Gallery room
More details: (to avoid confusion because sometimes the Verdugo that drops it doesn't spawn after all enemies are killed unless you exit and re-enter the stage, and you could have continued not knowing that which would have you soft locked later) if you are soft locked I recommend
.Fix for crash that can happen in the hanging Dragon statues lava room when jumping on the turning gate center piece
.Lack of ladders in the Village Center has now been fixed since the Shotgun house cutscene was removed so the ladders were never here before
.Death Screen button prompts appear WAY faster now after dying, which helps A LOT when you die a lot and need to restart often!
.New mod included that improves the Scopes entering systems, to be less intrusive and annoying during normal gameplay! (It will now require you to aim more closely to the scopes to enter that mode, and will also make scopes when aiming with them look bigger!)
.King's Grail Room Collision updated to remove the original Armadura statue collisions that negatively affected navigation of the hallway
Non Gameplay changes:
.Big new mod also included that overhauls the materials of so many enemies/items in the game, to look more metallic and/or shiny! (Closer to OG GameCube shaders, tho results may differ depending on the different stage reflections)
.New mod included that greatly improves the look of the gloves of all Mercenaries characters (aswell as Mafia Leon's gloves)
.Some Stage effects & many dynamic objects that were gone previously are now BACK! (So now things like the Catapult Cannon Crank, Chandeliers, Merchant blue fire effects etc etc should be back!)
.SW Mutated Krauser has been restored and brought back to the last Ganado fight stage before rescuing Ashley from the Capsule Chamber!
.The included Gold to Blue/Red Broken Butterfly skins are now a bigger pack that change all Golden Skins to Blue/Red!
.ROE/LIH Gun Firing sounds are now higher quality!
.Entire custom ROE soundtrack has been improved quality wise, to now sound as good as the original ROE mod versions!
.Special Extreme Condition dialogues from the cops AND coughing Don José sounds at the beginning have been ported!
.New Merchant skin included that gives him the Extreme Condition Hat and Sunglasses!
Updates to the included QOL Fog Mod:
.Verdugo Sewers colors changed to be more green/less blue (closer to OG colors)
.Some Island Outdoor sections have been edited to be slightly brighter and less saturated (Closer to OG GC colors)
.Fog starting distance in the Island Bulldozer ride room has been reduced
.The Mercenaries Castle stage fog is now more blue & less grey
.Improves the Rain for the four Mercenaries Stages (when added with custom modded challenges)
Playing as different characters:
.NEW mod included that fixes lack of visibility with many Main Game Villagers/Zealots/Soldiers when playing as Ada!
.Mendez house cutscene door/Salazar boss fight gates removed for good measures so you don't get soft locked when using Mercenaries characters with Save editing (good for those that don't want to modify the OBB mods themselves)
.Improvements to playable characters included! So Mafia Leon can use the Dual Wielding Broken Butterflies, all characters can use Krauser's bow etc. (When Save editing)
.Playable Ashley's hand poses when holding the added Combat Knife, Lanterns and more should be improved!
.Playable Krauser's powered up muffled audio effects (that always stayed on) have been removed!
.Small edit to the Experimental Save File to make Ashley wear her armor outfit for Hunk/Krauser/Wesker slots The Doors removal .pak mods included in the Save download were also updated (Restores the LIH items but with the Insignia Key in it's OG game spot in the Mendez House Stage. Removes the trigger to leave the Salazar boss fight.)
.The Skip Ashley sections mod included has also been updated to let you access the second Ashley area as Leon optionally (Get closer to the door and interact to still teleport bellow instead)
Version 2.0
Thanks to recent RE4 VR modding discoveries, the MAIN OBB is now the primary OBB for modding!
That now means a LOT more space for mods inside the MAIN OBB! (After all the included movies are deleted except the Andy folder)
.Mercenaries will now work with the mod!
.And a few of my skin mods are also now in higher quality!
.The entire ROE soundtrack is also now included!
.And with a few more skins & other changes to them!
If you have downloaded the mod before, you will still get all the benefits by just downloading the Main OBB but I RECOMMEND you reinstall the original Patch OBB!
The OG unmodded Patch OBB is available as an optional file!
Life in Hell by Luis Webber for RE4 UHD PORTED toVR!
This is a very similar mod toRising of Evil enemy wise but less confusing progression wise, and is also easier!
Soundtrack, Enemy and Gun Firing Sounds are all reused from Rising (BUT with some of the unique to LIH ones also ported on top!)
INCLUDES a New Fog Mod that changes the original fog in subtle ways to match more the Original GameCube colors for every stages and removes the bad RE4 VR rim effect throughout the game too!
And MANY NEW Skins included to improve the VR Version's visuals and/or to SPICE things up!
All you have to do is replace the MAIN OBB file inside your Quest!
1. Plug your Quest to your PC (allow the access of files inside the Quest once plugged to PC,through the big popup or under notifications)
2. Go to the device files (Internal Shared Storage), then "Android", then "OBB", then "com.Armature.VR4", and replace the OBB there!
You're done, enjoy and good luck!
This process might be possible without dev mode, or without a PC if you use some file managers directly on Quest or something but I am not sure about either. I've always had dev mode on and never used those kinda file manager apps on my Quests.
If the game doesn't open after transferring the OBB, you might need to restart the headset, or reopen the game multiple times, or update the Quest Firmware (Some Firmware versions can cause this issue more often than others)
Some things to note about Life in Hell for VR (just like with Rising):
1. No more Cannon lever in the Castle Catapults, just walk through the big gates, it will have no collisions
2. After in the Sword Puzzle room, just place the Swords in their original ''wrong'' spots before their correct spots to solve the puzzle
3. There's triggers to go through the gates in playable Ashley's first room. Useful for checkpointing and respawning lanterns, and because levers are gone
4. You do not go back to Ashley's section as Leon. You get the last Ornament piece for free in Luis death room
5. Door to the Bulldozer ride doesn't need the Lever Puzzle to be unlocked anymore. Just use the door to access the Bulldozer ride without worrying about doing the Puzzle!
Another thing is, there is no more largest Inventory in the Merchant shop before the Valley.
You will have to do more item management, sell more grenades/heals etc and have less weapons early on!
Please also keep a gun ready & gripped in your hand before the elevator and its cutscene (where Leon says "somethings not right" to the Saddler boss fight! Keep it in your hand while the game is loading too.
Some advices for Life in Hell (similar to Rising too):
DO NOT let enemies fall to their deaths outside of playable areas! Enemies will usually drop KEY items NEEDED to progress! So kill every enemies you can and make sure none ever fall out of bounds!
Save your Rifle ammo for Novistadors, and absolutely always headshot the Novistadors with the rifle, feel free to bait them into letting you doing a kick so you can get easy headshots on them
Gigantes with extra accessories on them usually have way, way more health and should absolutely be hit with a direct RPG shot
Once you get the Magnum, you need to save as much Magnum ammo as possible and always line up shots between mutliple stronger enemies
Human Saddler from Separate Ways is sadly invisible and cannot be killed, he only appears 2 times throughout the mod. His job is the same, to be an annoyance to you, just do the simple triggers QTEs to avoid most of his attacks and don't try to kill him!
Always save whenever you get the chance to and save on different slots!
Use your TMP or other methods to aggro potential enemies in new rooms before entering them, you never know what might be waiting behind the next door!
It's also okay to skip some enemies here and there, if you dont think they drop anything useful or aren't worth your time for whatever reason it might be!
The Bolt Action Rifle is one weapon I never sold in my VR playthrough, it's not very big it does a lot of damage once fully upgraded, you do not need the Semi-Auto Rifle later on
I am still extremely happy to have figured out how to mod this version of RE4, and I hope you guys enjoy the mods as much as I do in VR!
