About this mod

Spawn list manipulation Mod.
Adds new or duplicates existing enemies in the game.
Amount of enemies added is meant to be reasonable making the game one level harder than Pro.
By default, increases spawn count by about 40%.
User configuration possible.

This Mod is for Resident Evil 4 Ultimate HD Edition, Steam version.
Compatible with game version 1.1.0 (same as on Steam at the date of the Mod release).
Mod is in the form of an executable program that attaches itself to the running game.

Features

  • No need to modify any of game files.
  • No additional program to run in the background needed (except, initially the Mod itself).
  • Does not require to run in the Administrator mode.
  • Tested and works on Windows 7 and 10.

Installation

  • Download the main Mod archive file.
  • Unpack to your SSD/HDD into the location of your choice.
  • Start the Mod by double-clicking on the main executable file.

Typical Usage

Start your game normally - i.e. using Steam launcher or from the desktop shortcut.
For the first time, it is best to switch the game into windowed mode.
Start the Mod by double-clicking on the main executable file.
On the Mod main window, click the "Try Attach Now" button.
If successful, you should hear a short sound playing - an inventory item pickup sound.
You can close Mod window now.
Load or start new game from the game main menu.

Limitations

  • New, added enemies re-spawn upon re-entering the room or location.
  • This mod works and is being tested only for the main game, i.e. when playing as Leaon.


Selected Mod Details

(Applies to version 1.2.1 of the Mod.)

  • First added enemies that can be encountered are added in the first location, on the path to the main village, past the house and past the hut containing the first save point.
    No enemies added before the house point - most of the times crashed the game on the house cut-scene start.
  • The main village, where you get the shotgun, is not modified and enemy location and count is unchanged.
    If add new spawns there, end of the encounter is triggered faster, which makes the area easier instead.
  • Farm past the main village has new villagers added in the part where the animals are.
  • No enemies added in the cabin fight area.
  • Split road, long road (Escape from El Gigante) area has 2 enemies added.
  • Castle Maze area has no enemies added.
  • ...

Editing Spawn Details

Main configuration file name is "redo_spawnlist_dll.ini" and it is located under the "dll_dir_xwj0pi" sub-directory. To see more info about how the mod is working, edit the INI file and set following property bAllocConsoleFix=1. There should now be extra console window opened, whenever the mod is activated.

To edit enemy spawn locations directly, locate and open the INI file under the following sub-directory: "dll_dir_xwj0pi\spawnlist_dll_dir_yqux2f\conf_7lcl4uo". The file has a documentation that explains more how to add or modify spawns using this Mod specifically.
