About this mod

Reshades REmake 3 to look like an older horror film being watched on period accurate hardware without being over the top. Overall is more of a natural change vs being exaggerated and distracting as with some other reshade presets.

Gives an aesthetic of a 90's/early 2000's style VHS horror movie being watched on a CRT TV. A lot of other CRT reshades go too far with certain aspects to the point that it doesn't work as well for normal gameplay. I wanted the effects to be noticeable, but subtle enough so as not to be distracting and rather feel natural. This is my first ever Nexus upload. This Reshade preset is perfect for older machines as it only uses 3 relatively basic filters. It also tends to almost conceal lower resolution textures. This should trigger some Nostalgia and increase immersion hopefully.

Hardware Req: I use a GTX 780 with 16GB of RAM and have few frame-rate issues locked at 60fps. I personally lock mine at 24fps using a third party program to be consistent with the standard film framerate.

Note: Make sure the in-game Chromatic Abberation is ON. It is meant to blend with the Reshade CA filter.

Mods used in screenshots are Chiarav1's Julia Voth Head w/ hairfix and PaladinDanseOff's REmake Jill's Combat knife. (I love that name LOL!)

Installation: It's just a .ini file compressed in a .rar. extract the file then put it into your RE3/2 folder then load the reshade preset like you would with any other game.

Many thanks to the people who have downloaded this preset! I also extend a kind thank you to the good souls that have endorsed this preset! I never expected to get this much attention so quickly. I wish you all a happy gaming experience.

RE2 Note: This preset also works great with RE2 apparently. So if you want to try it out there be my guest. Make sure that in-game CA is on!
